Best tasting organic Matcha in this price range
I rarely write reviews, but I felt compelled to do so after carefully conducting a taste test of five different brands of organic ceremonial grade matcha in this same price range. I found that this one had the best taste of all of them, Iâm happy to share my impressions for those who are interested. The five brands that I chose were the only ones I could find that were both organic and labeled âceremonial gradeâ at this price range, with the understanding that real high-quality ceremonial grade matcha is much more expensive. I conducted the taste test making hot matcha, first just with hot water, and second with steamed milk. I didnât add any sweeteners because it would alter the taste. In my opinion, this brand had the softest mouth feel and the smoothest taste, with the least amount bitterness and sharp tannins.

great stuff indeed, but should be sold in packs of smaller pouchs
Bought it for its presumed health benefits. Was pleasingly surprised that I *loved* the taste too, to the point of “getting hooked”.This is my first Matcha, and apparently a new staple drink for me.I only tried it raw, in water, with sugar. The taste depends A LOT on how much sugar you use: find your own “golden ratio”.The caffeine “kick”: there’s certainly one, although initially less noticeable (with longer onset) than the one of brewed black or green teas.It seems to last longer too, and feels a bit different than any of the caffeine-containing stuff I ever had.(this includes Guarana, Yerba Mate, and Guayusa)The Wild Matcha itself:- it’s not “emerald green”, more like “deep green” – just like pictured.Looks like matcha’s color is not a reliable indicator of grade or quality after all: this stuff smells and tastes great anyway.- there’s surprisingly little bitterness, and it’s a rather pleasant one. I’d probably like MORE of it, not less.(so I stopped considering “ceremonial grade” Matcha)- there’s a bit of clumping sometimes, but I found these little clumps add extra “zing” to the already great taste, so I just leave them there. It’s not too hard to get rid of them completely, but why bother?Overall I’m impressed how easily this stuff mixes: much easier than my sport supplements, or anything else I can remember.I never felt a need for a mixer or even a whisk: a teaspoon, and a half a minute of your time (till sugar dissolves) is all it takes. My biggest complain is price: the 8oz pouch I ordered was half-empty in a few days, so I’m looking at $50 a month just for this one tea. Grrrrr! And it doesn’t smell as fresh as it used to anymore, even though I stored it in refrigerator all the time.Wish it was offered via Subscribe-and-Save, and in packs of smaller pouches (1-2oz).

GOOD
This mixes pretty well in my water,it taste good, but I am trying to give up coffee and this doesn’t compare, but I know it is better for me so I will continue, but when my husband makes himself coffee in the morning the smell make this transition very hard.

very good intro to matcha at a good price, significantly higher quality is MUCH pricier
Keep in mind this is my first experience with matcha however, I am very pleased with it. While reading around online it seems that matcha has a bit of a reputation for being grassy. While it is different than what I normally think of as tea, I wouldn’t describe it as such. I can’t really compare the unique flavor to anything, though it is certainly reminiscent of regular green tea. Apparently culinary grade is a slightly courser grind than is typically used for matcha tea, but given the price(high end matcha is insanely expensive) this more than understandable. I actually found that when making a fairly strong tea, the slight texture that undissolved particles gave the tea was pleasant, similar to coffee with a body.

… since it’s the economy variety) but very fresh and good flavor. Excellent follow up from company
A little gritty for tea (as expected since it’s the economy variety) but very fresh and good flavor. Excellent follow up from company.
