A great idea
a good idea, however not the best design. Does the job, just not aesthetically pleasing.
The Grove –
I’ve tried similar mounts for utilizing a phone in the car and have always been unimpressed – until now. First of all, this device attaches securely to the display panel on the Tesla leaving no room for wiggle. (Mine is a Model Y – but I think the attachment would work on any similar screen). There are no adhesives or velcro, only tighten down screw/clamps. The small arms that extend from the mount are completely adjustable and allow the phone to be in almost any position in the area. Portrait or landscape, it accommodates both. The magnet is very strong and seems to glue your phone to the mount while it is there. It comes with a magnet to attach to your phone if you’d like, but my phone case has it built in. I feel safer having my phone up near the driving point of view instead of occupying one hand to hold it while trying to look at something. Best of all, there is no ‘play’ or ‘wiggle’ in the placement. It is so stable and secure it feels like it is a part of the original car. So convenient. This is the first phone mount that I haven’t hated… and I love it. Strongly recommend.

This grips the Model 3 screen much better than I expected, and the magnet that holds the phone is also very strong. It’s easy to position the phone exactly where you want it.
