Mentally stimulating
I’ve got a few different cat activity products, but this activity board is my favourite. One of my cats took to it the day I got it while the other took a couple of days to learn how to get food out of the little bowls. Now they are both good at using it and frequently go back to it during the day to take a few biscuits then wander off.I started out by putting a few pieces of shrimp on it and sitting with them while they worked out how to get the food, encouraging them when they got stuck. Now I use it instead of giving them dry food bowls and put their daily rations on it. It seems to benefit them as they have to work to get the food out, which is especially good for them during the Winter months when they don’t seem to do anything but sleep as it gives them a bit of mental stimulation and physical activity. The best thing about it is that it has five different types of activity (bowls, tunnel, little dips, wiggly lines and stumps) which each require a different level of tactile ability from your cat. It also challenges them to use their other senses as the can’t always see the food or reach it with their mouth so need to rely on their nose or paws.An added bonus is that (like the other cat activity puzzles) you can put wet food on it too because it’s made of hard plastic and is really easy to wash (the plastic bowls can be taken off which I didn’t know when I ordered it). For a treat I put a packet of wet food on it and watch the cats dipping their paws into the sauce and licking it off once they’ve got all the chunks out… Very cute, but can be a little messy so I put a towel underneath. It might appear that some cats find it too easy to get the food, but it still requires them to engage their brain and practice using their feet so I wouldn’t say that them finishing it quickly is a problem with the product. It’s a very good price for the quality and is really durable so if you’re looking to give your cats a casual activity to do for a few minutes a couple of times a day I would definitely buy this for them.

It works
Charlie is 10, guzzles food, she lost her weight but have had to move into a hotel for a few months because of repairs needed on flat. So sheâs not getting much exercise or entertainment. My vet years ago had given her a ball where she was supposed to get the food out it didnât work she just stared at it. This is fantastic. At first like a child she pretended she could do it, Iâd show her and sheâd push the food away as if to say see I canât do it your just going to have to give it to me. I left the food there went off, she started to try to get the food, within a couple of days me showing her she had it, but still in front of me she pretended she couldnât get the food, did a clumsy paw plonking on the food pushing it away. Then looked at me. I then would hear her and watch as long as she didnât think I was watching there she was doing it, I really thought she could do the two long s shape bits she made her paw seem too big to get in there. But there she was delicately in bringing the food towards her. So cheeky and such a human trate. One time she realised I was watching so suddenly played daft again. I basically within 10 days moved her meal times on to this, she doesnât have a bowl anymore. When she has chicken I put half the amount that I used to and half way through eating sheâs moved away and licking her lips and paws, sheâs full. It totally works. It keeps her busy, uses her brain, slows down her eating, makes her realise she full. Of course sheâs also got more inquisitive and started putting her paws in everything to get stuff so had to move a few things. Was nervous getting this after the experiences with the ball ones, but this has been fantastic. Iâm thinking of getting something else similar, one for her chicken and this one for dried food. But to keep her occupied, and keep food eaten slower. A few times she cried for some food so I put a few dried pellets in there she loves them, but she wasnât really hungry and left them, 3 hours later was hungry and got to it to get them. I would totally recommend this.

Good concept but my cats arenât interested
Unless itâs a treat they shouldnât be getting. Maybe they arenât stimulated by normal cat treats enough. Nice set up and I like the little bowls come off for ease of cleaning.

I have a senior cat and a 2 year old so getting a toy they both like is difficult. Trixie is a miracle and have both my boys loving it. I got up the next morning to find them sitting beside the toy , waiting for me to add food/ treats!!!!
