The Medieval Mishap is a co-operative, immersive puzzle adventure contained entirely in one package. All you’ll need is a pen, an internet connection… and your wits.
A range of puzzle types means everyone can contribute, regardless of age and skillset. No rules to learn and no prior knowledge required. If you get stuck, clues and solutions will get you back on track.
Log in and connect to the online world of the games. History Mysteries combines sumptuously-produced real-world puzzles with fully-voiced characters, an epic soundtrack and interactive online storytelling.
This is the second instalment in the Ministry of Time series. It is an ideal activity for a family to enjoy together, but can also be played alone by adults or older kids. You do not need to have played any other History Mysteries to play this game.
Fans of escape rooms will find plenty to love. You may also enjoy this experience if you’ve ever played a point-and-click video game or read a murder mystery novel.
The game is “medium” level difficulty, aimed at players aged 8 and above. It can be played by 1 to 5 players.
The experience lasts between one and two hours, though you can enjoy it at your own pace. It is not designed to be played multiple times, but the puzzles can be reassembled and restarted. All materials are recyclable. Please note you will need a larger screen such as a laptop or tablet in order to play.

Unlike many games of this type this has been beautifully and thoughtfully designed, it is worth the price for the quality of the maps, and paper documents alone. The gameplay is pitched just right for a family game so everyone can enjoy the puzzles and tasks. Purchased one for my niece and her family – went down a storm. (PS Sorry Amazon I did buy this one directly….)

Excellent production quality
We’ve played a lot of escape and puzzle games and this was an excellent example of the genre. Although all the pieces are paper, the production quality was top notch. I particularly liked that every piece was clearly marked with a letter and each puzzle told you which pieces were needed.The game does require constant use of the internet as all the directions are provided through a website. The plot is fully voice acted though and the graphics are appealing.None of the puzzles were super challenging which means that I would say it is suitable for play with relatively young teens ( probably 9+) as well as adults making it good for a family activity. There were a nice variety of types of puzzles and.All in all, an excellent experience and I can thoroughly recommend!
