The DNA model is extremely fragile and quite difficult to assemble. The test tube is too large for the tube stand – it falls over. The paper filter is too thick for the soapy tomatoe puree. The pipette is too narrow to allow alcohol to drip into the soapy puree. After improvising to overcome these issues, I tried the visible DNA experiment twice. It didn’t work at all. No visible white strings or flakes. I wonder if the manufacturers even tested it themselves. The bacteria growing experiment doesn’t seem to work either even though I followed the instructions as written.
