Excellent gift for my preteen
I will start by saying if your kid is addicted to devices, they might be bored with this. My 12 year old does not have a device like most of his peers and really enjoyed building this radio. It took him less than 20 minutes to build and it works perfectly! He likes having it in his room and his little brothers enjoy listening to the music from it too.

Fun kids activity
Got these for my kids for Christmas. There were a hit! They enjoyed assembling it themselves. Directions were clear and understandable. Not the most beautiful, some of the internal screws poke out and the battery holder is located outside, although it makes sense for ease. The kids painted and decorated them. Each one worked very well for a simple radio. Spent Christmas night listening to 3 different radios all night long. They take them anywhere they can.

While this was fun to put together. Only one station of static came in. My 8yr old grandson said that he would still use it, because he thought the static was a sleeping machine that made rain sounds!

Nice kit, but have your soldering iron handy
The instructions were pretty good, until âattach the wires to the speakerâ and it expects you to just wrap the wires around the terminals or something.Thankfully I had a soldering iron handy because my kid wouldâve had all kinds of issues with the speaker wires intermittently connecting. Would totally ruin the idea of building her own radio if it doesnât work well

Good quality kit and fun activity
My daughter built this for her 12th birthday and it was a fairly quick activity with an easy for her age assembly (6 steps) and great sound quality with several local radio stations tuned on the device. Fun for kids. Functional gift with good value for the money.
