Feel premium, looks premium and is premium
I have to say comparing the Remington MB7050 to my £40 Braun BT5260 (ok compared to Philips but expensive – plastic and metal blades) & Phillips trimmers BT3226/13 (great for the price and good cut but width of metal blate is too narrow)- the Remington is next level all round.Don’t get me wrong the Braun and Phillips are both great trimmers but lack in certain areas for me which is why I upgraded to the Remington – I’ll explain…I want an all-in-one t-bar style trimmer as this has a wider cut which can be used on the head also.Has to have a range of sutting lengths from 0 – 20mm and everythign inbetween which most don’t have. For example the majority only have the traditional step graded guards – Blades – 0-1mm, No1 – 3mm, No2 – 6mm etc.I don’t want traditional lengths as they are either too long or too short as Ideally I want a 2.5mm or 2mm or 1.5mm on top .(In my experience with head trimmers they are way too heavy handed and bulky for solo use. Plus I butcher my head when using and I’ve owned a few different types over the years to know)Also I didn’t want was loads of unnecessary heads, guards and bits which I won’t use. Just something simple, refined, solid with a good battery life for regular use. After exploring the wide market, that is male grooming products I narrowed my choice down to 2 contenders:1. Wahl t-bar2. Remingtom t-barAgain, for me, despite the glowing reviews the Wahl had too many or too little bits for what I wanted and was fundamentally more expensive than the Remington. It’s a shame I couldn’t have bought both and been able to return one after comparing – might have changed my mind on having too many bits! Also to add insult, I’ve been checking them again this morning and all the Wahl’s I looked are on offer now – Amazon ou are watching me watching you!!Anyway, the Remington won! Has the right amount of bits (as I keep banging on about) of which are good quality, covering the right amount of cut lengths, great quality case, looks stylish in black and gold, is a good weight with excellent build quality. But, how does this trimmer perform on me and after the initial wow?I went for the 9mm guard on the face – beard and it’s perfect. No flexing of the guard giving an uneven cut nor was the guard too heavy on my face causing irritation. Only needed to use the 1st power setting as I didn’t feel the trimmer required the extra power and wasn’t left dissapointed. There is an adjustable guard which has a gold metal section; think is great so might go shorter on the beard and try out next time – 1mm – 5mm and possibly try on my head? I did use this guard on my eyebrows, the 5mm setting and was spot on without fault and didn’t cause irritation’Used the blade without guard on the uper part of face and neck areas to style, trimming back to skin.Very impressed with the closeness of the shave and didn’t need to use the foil head accessory this time around to get closer.Next for the head – I’ve been shaving since lockdowns, plus it’s thinning now so saving cash on the barbers at £10 a pop.I’ve gone for using the No0 – 1.5mm guard on approx 5-7mm of hair growth.Firstly on the 2nd power setting and it went through my hair like hot knift through butter. After a few runs over the top and side it was all off; took some brushing inbetween to gauge where I was with the cut but I could have made this easy on myself buy grading down to a 1.5.Guard off to cut into sides and back of my neck which was also a close and accurate experience. No irritation at any point and was a much more pleasent and quicker experience than using my old Braun and Phillips beard trimmers on my head.I’ve not used the foil as yet but when I have another trim up in the next coupls of days will give it a go.I’m not too bothered with the foils performance as the t-bar without guard is close enough for my liking also from time to time I wet shave. If it’s exceptionally good I’ll update on here after use.lastly to mention as a bit of a perfectionist I take my time with the whole face / head trimming experience and as a result need a trimmer with lasting power to match. The Remington has a light system on the back which other reviewers have included pictures of – charging and in use notification. (For the record the initial charge took around 3hrs prior to use)After 30-40mins use the trimmer shot down to 2 blue lights, which cnsidering the advertised 5hr use per charge is not representative of this?(Could be one of those small print certifications that says 5hrs use on the 1st power setting? Might be about right as I was using the trimmer for 30mins my head – 2nd power setting). All in all, the old Phillips trimmers BT3226/13 is being made a reserve due to the width of cut, accuracy and closeness of the shave after 4yrs of use. The Braun BT5260 is being made redundant after only owning since March 2020 as they are no where close to the performance of either the Remington or Phillips. It’s worth the £80 spend if you are in the market for an all round device tou can keep for years (hopefully)There’s not much more I can say on this trimmer other than it’s another example of you get what you pay for.(*Note – spare parts are advertised but I can’t find anywhere )

The best beard trimmer
I have had this product now for 4 years, it has been used every week to trim my beard and maintain. I have to say itâs the best trimmer I have owned. Itâs absolutely brilliant gives you a precise cut, good clean lines and overall a good trim up. It is slowly now coming to its end and I am considering purchasing another if I can afford it. It is sharp and powerful.

Good capable clipper
This is a great little clipper. The version I purchased had attachments for beard, hair and a shaving foil. I only purchased for the beard trimmer. I wanted a trimmer with good battery coupled with good beard trimmer attachments. For beard trimming itâs very good. Itâs sharp and because of its size allows good visibility when shaping. A word of warning if you like to trim without guards. The blade is close to the edge out of the factory so too much pressure is applied it will nick. I believe the blade may be adjusted further search YouTube if interested. It charges super quick and holds charge well but as with all rechargeable products you must never completely allow it to discharge. A charge once a week if used daily or every two weeks if used less often should suffice. The body of the unit has a solid feel but is just a tad bit too heavy. The finish on the unit does not provide sufficient grip as itâs too smooth. It has a dedicated adjustable beard attachment, numerous hair combs in various grades and the shaving foil.I have used it for beard and hair and it is satisfactory. I have always wet shaved so the shaving foil is redundant. For maintenance thereâs a tiny cleaning brush, a little bottle of oil and everything can be kept together in a pencil case style case. After buying many trimmers I come to the conclusion that only the high price units have proper batteries and that means the units life is that much longer.Thankfully this was purchased whilst on offer.I award four stars.Happy shopping.

Bad razor
Doesnât cut very well. The battery lasts for about 15 minutes. Unfortunately canât return, just avoid it.

Very good all-rounder
Much better build quality than I expected for the price point. Cuts effortlessly and quickly through very thick hair, coarse hair. Battery life seems good for the size. Can be used both cordless and corded. The only draw back I’ve noticed is that the speed of the motor noticeably drops when unplugged even when fully charged.

Excellent trimmer. Well balanced and does a great job.

blades are sharp and precise
its very sharp and for a trimmer can cut. battery lasts a long time and the lock button surely helps so no accidentally turning it on as its a slide button. well made and feels quality and not cheap. does take a little time getting use to the cutting angle and the heads as its a slightly more deeper angle of approach. not a lightweight trimmer as some weight to it which again makes it feel more premium and value for the money.come with usual clip on heads oil and comb.although comb was missing from mine. other than that i would recommend it.

Great value, struggles with thick hair though
Bought for myself as part of improving my self-care routine. This clipper has an amazing range of lengths and attachments, giving a huge range of customization and allowing a lot of styles. It is fantastic for beard styling. The only issue is that it struggles with thick hair. I was expecting to be able to use this for the top of my head as well, however it can only manage to my upper sideburns before it struggles. Any further up and it can jam entirely.
