Players take the role of Venom, a hungry and murderous alien symbiote. Allies like the symbiotes Agony, Lasher, Scream, Phage, and Riot help Venom achieve his goal while heroes like Black Cat, Scarlet Spider, and Silver Sable get in his way.

Interchangeable villain
Villianous continues the franchise, same way. Villianous is based on baddies in Disney, marvel, or star wars franchises. All games are interchangeable.Each player has a their objective, and fate deck. The first player to archive their objective wins.Another player will add items and allies (linked to the characters) to the opponents’ board to slow them down. Essentially you not playing the same “boardgame” but individual story.What is good you pit Vider against Queen of hearts. If you like the original you this is a another character you play. I recommend it.Pros- Interchangeable villain- Same game quality- Easy to pick upCons- Not really playing on the same board, more like playing different stories and effecting the outcome of those stories.

Harder than we thought…..
This isn’t a ‘sit down and just play’ game…. you really need some time on your hands and to be in ‘the mood’ to learn the rules and the ‘game play’.It’s quite different from most board games in concept and that did make it interesting, but also a bit difficult.We found that having two of us sit down and run a mock game worked well as then two of us had a good idea of the concept and an idea of some of the strategies before we helped others to play…..Even then a ‘dummy’ game where you help the others to understand their move options would be fairer to all. The more you play the more you will learn about each of the characters which then helps with the game flow and pace.

From what I’ve read, this expansion was originally supposed to go out with the Twisted Ambitions set. I didn’t have that when my buddy and I tried Venom out. He seemed OP and might be more interesting to play with other villains who have high player interactivity.
