Organic Oils & Serums

Hypersensitive & Redness

“Out of the blue, my usually calm skin became irritated, hyper-sensitive and acne-prone. Trying to keep it under control was a daily battle and I’d reached a dead-end with a bathroom cabinet full of products claiming to be “hypoallergenic” and “clean”, let down by their ingredient lists full of synthetics and known irritants.

I just wanted effective skincare that I could trust and depend on. Creating Pai was my way of taking back control.”

    The best
This is the only serum that has made a change to my skin.It looks a lot brighter less wrinkles and people have actually noticed. I’m 64 years old and have tried many. I’m on my 3rd bottle and think I will be getting a 4th soon.

    Good serum but too expensive.
A good serum which is best applied at nighttime to avoid sun sensitivity .Very good for sensitive skin.TINY bottle which works out as expensive.I think cheaper retinol serums are equally good.

Does it work? Hard to tell.
I’m 52 and bought this product about a month ago along with other Pai products to try and address age related pigmentation and hormonal breakouts – I’m new to multi-step skincare in general and topical vitamin C in particular. I can’t say how well is works as I believe it takes a very long time to have any visible effect, if it ever does – but I can say that this is a facial oil with a nice texture.10ml is not a lot of product but as long as the claims are true (that the Vit C in it is expensive to produce, unusually stable and does actually get delivered to the skin) at a smidge under £20 that’s fine for what I think will be at least a month’s worth of applications, based on the three drops I use once a day. I have the rosehip oil for night use and Pai recommend you add it to that as well but I think the bottle is too small and expensive to be able to use it twice a day.One thing I find off putting is that the product looks and smells like pure sunflower oil, which is an oil that always smells cheap and rancid to me – for this reason I can’t bring myself to cook with sunflower oil, so a big part of me is saying why on earth am I paying an absolute fortune put it on my face?! Due to the smell I doubt I will buy this ‘booster’ again unless a skincare miracle happens before the end of this bottle, and even then I might look for another vitC serum that does not use a sunflower carrier oil.

    Good stuff
I ordered this for fine lines and ended up using not only on that but for a small facial scar, once it was recovered enough to take it. The serum is fine and delicate enough a consistency for this purpose and I think I can see it is helping and smoothing that area. So I have reordered. Combines well with my Weleda almond facial moistrring lotion, if you’re into natural preparations as I am.

Just received my second bottle ( it doesLast but if you mix fewDrops with yourMoisturiser it’s even better so intend to do this every other day I’m hooked -HighlyRecommend

    Tried and trusted brand
Pai is a tried and trusted brand for me which I would highly recommend. Very pleased with this serum and would buy again. My skin can be quite sensitive and reactive but I haven’t had any issues with the serum so far.

I was looking for a pure version of this product and in the description it didn’t say anything about any other ingredients from what I could see ? my skin is very sensitive so I don’t know why I just spent so much money on this

I’m giving it four stars because the price is too high for the amount you get. That being said, my sensitive, redness-prone skin really loves it. I mix one drop in with another serum. It evens out my skin tone and makes my face look overall healthy.

When I use this skincare booster, I use it just like I use a facial oil. That’s because it’s actually quite oily. It’s a very clean oil that is great for various skin types, but I do need to use it very sparingly on my mature combination skin or it just gets to be too much. Also, it’s not something that I can use on a daily basis for my skin type. When I do use this, it makes my skin look great and it helps to condition my skin. There will be a little bit of a shine, but it’s the clean healthy sort that appears more radiant and not as though I’ve got an oil slick on my face. Will also brighten the complexion. This is very nourishing for my skin and makes it much more supple and elastic. Especially good after being exposed to the elements, or when I know that I’ll be outside in the sun or wind. This will help to protect my skin. Works well with other skincare products, but will boost their emollient factors. Quite good to use on damaged skin.Ideal for those with dry skin or for those who can benefit from the occasional extra conditioning. Very clean and is probably safe and good for some with sensitive skin. When you go to use this, start out using only a very small amount and add more if needed. Once you get to know this product and how best to use for your skin type, it’s actually quite good. You can also use this to boost up your other skincare products by mixing in a drop or so.

    * Overall Impression:-It’s a gentle, fragrance-free, non-irritating retinoid serum, but it’s a very small (0.3 oz) size for the higher cost per ounce.-It’s nice, gentle and has good ingredients, but the smaller size at a higher cost makes it not a good budget pick.-Size: 0.3 oz (it’s quite small)* Pros-what I liked and what worked well:-Gentle, non-irritating on my sensitive skin. The formula was very gentle and I’d consider it safe for those with sensitive skin. I had no burning, stinging, redness or irritation during or after use.-Fragrance-free. No fragrance, perfume, essential or fragrant oils. I could smell the olive oil in it mildly though but only for a few seconds, it disappeared quickly on the skin. I would consider this safe for those sensitive to scents.-Dye free.-Good ingredient listing. Gentle, no irritating or problematic ingredients.-Alcohol free, no irritating alcohols in it.-Standout ingredients: retinal 0.16%, olive oil, grape seed oil.-Formula: It’s a milky fairly thick opaque serum. It does spread on the skin well and soak in without leaving the skin feeling sticky, greasy or oily, even though it does have oil in it.-Moisture level: Even with the oils in it, it’s fairly lightweight. Unless your skin is very oily, you’ll likely still need to layer a heavier moisturizer over it. It works well in skincare layering as the layer (optional) over the liquid and/or under a heavier cream or lotion moisturizer.-A little goes a long way. About 2-3 drops for your entire face. You shouldn’t need more than that per application.-The amber glass dropper bottle does a good job protecting the formula from light degradation. Be sure not to touch the dropper to your hand or face or you will add bacteria back into the bottle, always drop onto your skin vs touch your skin.-The carton is safety sealed (on the underside) for safety and the bottle has a plastic ring safety seal (like a milk bottle) for safety.-Ingredients are printed on the carton in multiple languages.-Vegan friendly.-Organic ingredients.-Cruelty free.-Non GMO ingredients.-Paraben free.* Cons-what I didn’t like and what didn’t work well:-Ingredients are not listed in the listing or listing pictures. (You can look them up though.)-Very small size (0.3oz) and amount for the cost. It’s a nice formula with good ingredients, but it’s pricey for the size and the ingredients. It’s not a value or budget pick. A standard serum from The Ordinary, for example is a better value in a larger size than this, and I’d choose that instead.-Ingredients are not printed on the bottle, just the carton. To be fair, it’s so tiny of a bottle they likely didn’t have room to do this, but it would have been nice.* Tips & Thoughts:-You can look up the ingredients on the brand site for more details. They aren’t included in the listing.-Note that the carton it comes in has a safety seal on the underside of it vs the top. You’ll need to remove that to open it. Note that the ingredients, details and instructions are listed on the carton. The carton unfolds completely with all the printed instructions on it.
