    Still better than a Smartphone
This compact is packed with features, it takes amazing photos and movies, and, in my opinion, is better at what it does than any action camera.
The colours are fantastic, and it allows for, as close to a macro, as any compact you could hope for. 4K Video at 120fps is incredible to find in a compact, and 12mp is just right for the size of sensor it sports.
This camera really comes into its own when shooting underwater, which is what attracted me to it initially, to be able to use this camera the whole day without carrying around lenses and lighting, justifies why this is the perfect camera for travelling.
I have professional mirrorless cameras and lenses; I also have action cameras and the latest iPhone, and I still find myself reaching for this camera more than any other whilst travelling, which is testament to how good this camera is even though it is 3 years old.
If you’re on the fence with this camera, then I would get it, there are pros and cons to any camera, and I guess you have to weigh up what you want out of it. This camera is versatile and robust, and if you can justify the price, it won’t ever let you down.
    I highly recommend.

Fantastic, stress-free alternative to a DSLR
I began photography with a Sony DSLR and it wasn’t for me – it was too heavy and cumbersome in my small hands, and when taking photos in muddy and sandy conditions I was always worried about damaging the lens.
This Olympus Tough is the perfect alternative. You can achieve a lot by changing the ISO and Aperture and by playing with Flash – and I personally prefer that this camera has less Settings than a DSLR, as I like to take photos more spontaneously and in-the-moment. My best photos come out that way.
If you like a more “point and shoot” kind of photography, without over-fiddling with settings or worrying about damaging your lens, this is the ideal camera. Yes, it’s maybe not suitable for blowing the photos up to huge A3 printouts – but for smaller scale images it produces beautiful prints. And you can always post-edit your images in Lightroom to improve them.

    Great cameras
I’ve had the TG-4 for many years and been really happy with it. They’re sturdy cameras and take great photos but, after much use, my TG-4 is starting to look a bit worse for wear, so I decided to upgrade to the TG-6.
It hasn’t had a lot of use, but seems on a par with the TG-4 for ruggedness and image quality so should be fine. The more common usb-c port would have been handy for charging but this is just minor and as it seems to be the only difference between this and the TG-7 I wasn’t prepared to pay the extra for the newer model.

Out of the box this is a very easy camera to use.
Picture quality is good, thankfully it is tough so far I’ve knocked it against a few objects at work and it still works.
Update: it’s been 5 years since I bought this camera and it’s an absolute workhorse. Better than I expected. It’s been dropped (15+metres) on 2 occasions, then I bought a dropped object lanyard, (should’ve done that the first time). Anyways when climbing up and down steel towers it’s received a few knocks on the way and still to this day keeps working, the microscope view for zooming real close to fiddly numbers is amazing, especially when wearing gloves of all sorts of thickness. When working in-35°c to +40°C it’s great, I did have to buy an additional battery when working in severe minus temperatures for obvious reasons I would’ve stopped working if I didn’t have warm clothes on. The camera hasn’t malfunctioned once.
Congratulations @Olympus this is an amazing camera, I’m certain I’ll be retired from work before the camera.

A very good all round camera
I read a lot of reviews prior to this purchase. We bought it for the family, but with the primary purpose of it being suitable for my 3 year old daughter to use.
It’s very simple to use in P or Auto, is sturdy enough thus far, and takes ok pictures.
If you have a recent smartphone, you’ll get better pictures from that in “normal” circumstances. Where this camera comes into its own is in wet environments or when it might get dropped. And I can’t wait to get out on holiday and try it in the pool.
So far I’m pleased with this as a versatile camera for uses where your phone isn’t appropriate and you don’t want to be carrying a slr / don’t need the image quality.
    Downsides for me:
Image quality is below modern smartphone sensors and processing.
no lens cap – lens needs regular cleaning as it’s so open to grubby fingers and dust. And you need to buy an adapter to use one.
No retainer on the wrist strap for smaller wrists
Opening the flap to access the charging port is fiddly. I am the only member of the family who can do it.
Update after our first holiday and some underwater photography: it was fantastic taking this in the pool on our family’s first foreign holiday post covid, I could be in the pool with my daughter recording her swimming without worry. There are a couple of downsides though, transitions into and out of water are not handled well by the mic with loud pops and crackles that software should be trying to limit. Likewise water spots on the large front element can ruin photographs taken out of water after just having been underwater, some kind of hydrophobic coating is needed here. Finally, the display is dim even at maximum brightness meaning you’re often guessing a little as to whether the subject is central or in focus. Nonetheless I got some very cool pictures!

I bought this camera for taking pictures while snorkeling and scuba diving and it is worth its weight in gold. What is ironic is, it is better value than the prized GoPro. It lacks the stabilization of a GoPro, but in every other way it is superior. We took underwater photographs and it captures the colors very well. Go pro with it!
The only con of this camera is the casing for underwater photography below 15 meters, costs the same amount as the camera. So I got one from Kamal Imaging of Mumbai at 36K and they give free delivery too. I will be buying the accessories from Kamal Imaging, its cheaper than online rates.
