Love this brand! Any of the Nature’s Way probiotics are exceptional and are backed with studies performed by an unrelated lab, Consumer Lab (though similar, they are not related to Consumer Reports). I highly recommend any of them depending upon your needs.I’m a long time user of many probiotics, also a physician. Because this product meets the actual stated value, you get what you’ve paid for, unlike many others that state so many millions/billions but fall far short. And personal results prove its viability!That said, with the exception of chemistry studies, ET al; there is no way for one to ascertain the potency and viability of a supplement except through personal use and observation as well as utilizing the services of a third-party lab like Consumer Lab. Choosing a probiotic is a mystery for most people because each individual’s “gut” components of good intestinal flora are unique. And each situation of need results in choosing the correct formulation.I chose this particular blend because bifido aids the large intestine in many ways, primarily with regularity and immunity against “bad” flora. It’s the “go to” good bug for the large intestine when antibiotics are used, thwarting mild bacterial infections of the colon and general maintenance.More importantly, these are enteric coated and the contents will not be destroyed by stomach acid and will digest and deposit where they should, in your large intestine. Disregard the naysayers who’ve posted that these are coated with deadly PVC and or plastic-type products. Those posters are inaccurate and I can only assume they posted these remarks intended for another company’s product line. That, or they’re ignorant about cellulose.All of Nature’s Way probiotic and primadophilus line are enteric coated with plant derived cellulose. This form of coating is absolutely harmless to you, your DNA and digestive tract.

I suffered from serious skin “allergies” after a dog bite landed me in the hospital and massive doses of IV antibiotics. It seems I picked up a serious candida overgrowth after the antibiotics wiped me out. After 1.5 years of allergy shot and steroid cream I was about 50% better. That means I went from alligator skin to just lizard skin! It was bad. When you contemplate peeling your skin with a knife and you think that might feel better than the intense itching you know you have some sanity issues. I finally decided to do some deeper research and came to the conclusion the candida was the root cause. I did the candida diet, took the Optima probiotics and another supplement called Candex. Took about 2 months of diet, 4 months of Candex and I still take the Optima. I now have clear skin and no itching even when I kill it with sugar and carbs for a few days. These probiotics are human derived, and I think better than any dairy, Kefir etc. They are not cheap but when you are in a bad place like I was, it’s what you need. I can’t separate out the effect of the diet, Candex and Optima, there is just no way. But I will say that it is the only part of that regimen I still do and my skin stays clear. I have used Nature’s Way probiotics for many years and have found them to be a great product. Amazon description says, “Keep refrigerated for maximum potency” while question answers suggest the product does not lose much potency if left unrefrigerated for the time necessary to ship. I doubt, however, it retains its 90 billion potency when shipped and delivered warm. I’ll order from elsewhere in the future.
