Product Description
Hi! I’m Anne, a mom of two beautiful babies named Nala and Kai living in our adopted home in Costa Rica. Our Nalakai Slings are luxurious, soft, and stylish baby carriers.
Our motto is inspired by paradise, made with love. I wear my children every day, and I create beautiful and comfortable slings so I can share my passion for babywearing with others. We use luxury materials for our slings!
As a mom myself, I know what parents are looking for in a baby carrier. You want to keep your baby safe and secure, while still having the opportunity to look stylish and have fun with the design. Unlike backpack and wrap carriers, Nalakai slings are super easy to put on and off, with no buckles or ties. Our slings are so soft and lightweight, they are perfect to wear around the house while you work, get things done, or have your hands free to play with your other kids. Nalakai slings are also the best choice for traveling and comfy to wear on a plane.
Your little one will feel so safe and secure gently cradled against your chest. We make all of our slings with extra sleepy dust! We have video tutorials on how to properly wear newborns, including how you can use the tail fabric for extra head support. We also show you how easy it is to nurse your baby while wearing your sling!

We created a custom blend of bamboo and linen perfectly mixed to be super-soft against your baby’s skin, but also extra strong to keep them safe
VERSATILE AND STRONG!
Stretchy cotton ring slings are NOT safe as the fabric stretches, making them less secure. Our slings are super strong and durable, no stretching here!

Creates a nourishing heartfelt bond: carrying your baby close to your chest will feel like being wrapped in a loving embrace, which helps your little love gain a sense of trust & belonging. It is the most natural, womb-like position & creates an intimate bond between you both. Even a colicky baby will be soothed quickly to sleep as you carry him.
Eco-friendly, super soft bamboo & linen that’s kind to baby’s skin: seashell is the sweetest soft, light blush pink. We’ve paired our light pink bamboo blend fabric with our custom made rose gold aluminum rings. Our custom blend of bamboo and linen fabric provides an ultra-strong, lush woven fabric that is lightweight & silky smooth to gently shelter your baby as he or she drifts to sleep.
Safest carry position for correct hip development: many carriers interfere with healthy hip positioning as the baby is held incorrectly or facing outward & this can increase the risk of hip dysplasia. Nalakai slings harness your baby naturally in the m position so that hips can develop properly while keeping you and your baby comfortable. The front carry position massages your baby’s belly, improving digestion & preventing reflux & colic
Regulates temperature better than a wrap: not all young babies can control their temperature well & can easily overheat in a wrap. Our ring sling baby carrier will keep you & your precious baby comfortable yet cool & won’t wrinkle your clothes as much either! The tail fabric can double as a nursing cover, so you can breastfeed your baby privately while on the go.
5% of profits to families in need: you can help! With each purchase, we donate on your behalf to Cepia, a charity supporting low-income families in Costa Rica. Designed by a mom of 2, our mission is to help families around the world. All ring slings are backed by a lifetime guarantee.

Not sure who would use this
It wasn’t a terrible product, it just wasn’t very effective for me and a little bit fiddly. Baby didn’t love it either. i really wanted a good sling but alas this wasn’t it. After trying this, I think I prefer the more traditional baby carriers.

Update 6/15/2023: YALL. You can wear baby on your back?! This is incredible. Iâve been wearing him on my back for a few days now and it makes a world of a difference. My hands are completely free, I can get SO much more doneâgardening, chores, food, walking the dogs, hang drying laundry, etc.,âmore comfortable on my body. Blown away. Once you get wearing baby down in the front, try the back. Do a finger walk to make sure the fabric is positioned correctly. Tighten the sling to a little more than your normally would to make this easier. Move the ring to the center of your back. Insert baby like a hip carry. Take the arm on the side baby is on pit it in front of baby. Using both arms, swing baby to the back and get the ring positioned toward the center of your chest. Tighten and youâre good to go! There are YouTube videos of this as well. Happy wearing!!!
Update 6/7/2023: This sling was a AMAZING for me last week. My son and I traveled solo with two flights. I got my little bug all snug in the sling and breastfed him to sleep. He stayed a sleep and all snuggled up into me for 2 hours, both on and off of the plane. The more Iâve used this, the more Iâm loving it. Iâve learned if I wear it lower and not directly on my hip, I donât get as sore as fast. For this reason, Iâm bumping it back up to 5 stars. Iâve leaned to love this sling more than any of my other carriers!!
Update 5/19/2023: I have been using this sling for some time now and I will say, it gets so much easier the more you practice. I now know how to keep the ring high on my shoulder. This sling is also AMAZING for breastfeeding!! I still get incredibly sore on my shoulder after wearing this for an extended time but my son (12m, 22lbs) loves the sling!
Original review: As a SAHM with a baby who is attached me me, I have tried all types of carriers. This one by far has the biggest learning curve. It was so frustrating to try to get the treading correct. Once you get it, putting it on and getting baby inside goes pretty quick.
The material is a little scratchy. I usually just wear a nursing bra around the house and then a carrier over that. This irritates my neck when I do it. It will most likely soften the more I use it. My son also likes to turn his head against my body. Sometimes he does hit his head on the rings. Not sure if thatâs the product or user error.
Of all my carriers, this one makes me the most sore over time. If I stretch out the shoulder strap, it helps but I still canât wear this carrier as long as my other ones.
Last tip of advice is to make sure you sit baby in correctly with a deep seat. My LO wasn’t a fan of this carrier at first and he did wiggle himself down. But when done correctly, it offers baby good support.
Overall, 4/5 for me. Itâs a good carrier but I do have other carriers I enjoy more!

The fabric is very strong and secure feeling. There is definitely a learning curve and it takes many many tries to get better at using it. *Tip: it says to hang or lay flat to dry but it was rough and wrinkly when dried, i put it in the dryer for 10 minutes after it was dry to soften it up. This was my 1st and I ended up buying a lighter fabric sling because the think fabric was hard to maneuver. I recommend getting the Turkish muslin cotton sling 1st or the mesh 1 and then buying this 1 if it’s ur 1st time using 1 and ur learning. Once u learn on a thinner easier to use sling this 1 is great.
The sling distributes the weight nicely and makes them feel do light. They feel lighter in the sling wrap than they do in the stretchy wrap for some reason
I included a picture of the muslin sling i purchased after buying this 1, the muslin sling was much easier to learn on…also in the warmer months it’s definitely nice to have a breathable light weight fabric. Even though the linen is breathable and light the muslin is way lighter.

This sling is absolutely beautiful! And once I get it on it is very comfortable. Just having a bit of a tough time keeping it fanned out within the ring. Still getting the hang of it but I watched all of the tutorials and it just doesnât feel right yet.

Not for me, it wasnât really soft, had a weird smell right out of the bag and it was pretty stiff. My newborn wasnât feeling it either.

This is the 3rd baby carrier I have tried, and I am very happy with it! I have a moby (which works but is complicated to wrap, isn’t easy to get on/off, and gets really hot. I haven’t used much at all) and an ergobaby 360 (which is great for outdoor excursions). This ring sling carrier feels comfortable, supports baby well, is easy to get on and off, is easy to adjust, and easy to get baby in and out of. The fabric is nice and not too hot. I have been wearing baby a lot more! It feels relaxed and graceful. I highly recommend. Definitely watch the how to videos, makes the process much easier and gives great tips!
