Note this will not work with MagSafe so you must use the metal plates supplied – IMHO this makes it a bit of a faff as you have to remove these if you want to later use wireless charging.Strong magnets and reasonably secure mount on vents – so a bargain at the price and if you don’t use wireless charging then no need to have to take the plates out may be the best thing for you

So I bought this magnet for my phone for my truck. It’s crap. The magnet is shocking and won’t hold it. The clip is very badly designed. I’ve threw it away.

Beats even most of the very expensive competition.
The only reason that I ordered this holder was the promise made under About This Item, which said : ” SECURE – This magnetic phone holder for car vents comes with 4 ultra-strong magnets”. It was the idea of ultra strong magnets that really drew me in. However the securing clamp may also suit my needs. This won’t be used in a car but attached to my chairside table organiser and I need a clap that will fix to a thin sheet. In any case I do have other possible clamps that could be utilised if the magnets really are as good as promised.When I had the holder in hand I liked the metal pads that are supplied. Often you only get a ring and I feel that those can be fussy if you offer the phone up and it isn’t quite centred on the ring. That can lead to a phone doing some sky diving. When I tried the holder with my phone it was immediately apparent that the listing was absolutely true to its word. The magnet was very strong. The clip was also just what I needed and those two things were all I needed to know and my assessment of the holder had to be that it was fantastic and great value at just £4.99. In comparison to other magnetic clamps this one blows all that I have tried right out of the water. Fantastic!

Really strong magnet. Good adaptor to fit on your vent.
I’ve tried a few of these and this is the second one I really like.The magnet being a full circle and not just a ring makes the “target” really big when you are putting your phone on it. With the ring type I found you have to put the phone on precisely to line up the metal ring to the magnet. With this one it still holds the phone well even if you are out by an inch.The magnets are really strong.The metal shims have a self-adhesive backing but I just slip one between my phone and gel case and the magnet is still totally strong enough.Update:The magnet is definitely strong enough with a gel case.The clamp slightly obstructs the operation of the vent direction.

Have to be honest and say I skim-read details before ordering. However that goes some way to explaining my review.I had been looking for an easily attachable phone holder. One that didnt need massive amount of sucker attachment. The usual alternate attachments of hook going into air-vent are too short for my car’s vents so this clip on looked ideal.Issue being – and this is where the manufacturer description is a bit misleading or vague – you do need to stick the metal discs onto your phone for the holder’s magnets to have enough attraction.This bit isn’t clear in the description. FYI – I am using a iPhone 12 Pro Max. And it’s too heavy for the holder to attach to the back so keeps sliding off.And nowhere in the description does it say the attachment discs are suitable for MagSafe so I’m wary to go through hassle of attaching this to my phone.If not an issue for you, then for around £5 this is a decent product.

I have a magnetic phone case (magsafe functionality) and i had hoped this mount would work with the most common magnetic phone cases going but alas it would not workThankfully I tested it before getting in the car, and not while driving!
