Easy to build
This suncatcher set is really great. It comes with 3 plastic suncatchers, a bag of coloured cubes that attach to the suncatchers and a pack of pattern/code cards to help create different designs. The whole set is really good quality, the cubes are really easy to attach and take off, making it accessible for younger children. It is a really fun activity for children to learn about reflecting, coding, maths and art all in one which is great value for money.

May find some square cubes a bit loose and fallout, so be careful.
Small plastic cubes with a translucent esk finish allows light to mix and filter through. Like a mini rainbow when the suns catches them. There are three board pieces to attach your designs to however you wish, or if you want some structure use the flash cards with pre-made options.
I found the multicoloured cubes are really light weight, the boards have a raised bit for the cubes to push fit into. Though you may find some cubes don’t sit firm and are loose. So be careful if you have other young children around.
You can hang up your desing using the string pre-attached to the boards. Though I found Blutack was just as effective if you want it to stick to glass as the boards have a flat finish to them.

Exceptional quality STEM learning resources
I ordered the Learning Resources STEM Explorers Sun Catchers set for my 5 year old son.
Learning Resources are a well-known and superior quality brand for a wide variety of learning games.
The product arrived well packaged and in immaculate condition.
The set includes 400 pieces to construct STEM learning activities from any of the 19 cards.
Simply follow the instructions to place each piece in the plastic housing and display.
The designs give off a beautiful array of colours against the sunlight.
Each piece is well manufactured with no defects, marks or discolouration.
Such an exceptional set that has already kept my little boy entertained for hours.
This is much better than having to succumb to allowing screen time.
The set teaches children invaluable skills around problem solving, creativity and critical thinking, analytical skills and coding basics.
Overall, an amazing gift option competively priced compared with similar products on the market.

Engaging STEM activities
This kit is fantastic for encouraging creativity and problem-solving in children. The variety of challenges keeps my kids engaged for hours, and the transparent frames make their creations even more impressive when hung in windows. The materials are durable and can be reused, providing long-term value. It’s an excellent gift for young learners, fostering a love for STEM subjects through hands-on play.

Curious but suffers from a major flaw
How do you get the blocks back out again?
It’s supposed to be reusable, but this comes at the expenses of your fingers or your plastic. There is no tools included to help break this back up again, and a few design changes could have done it, such as making pin holes on each block and make the blocks without a full hole, we could have perhaps pushed them out from the back.
Instead what you end up doing is trying to wiggle it free which can take ages even for one block. Want to remove one in the middle and change it? Probably going to have to take them all out.
Using something metal scratches the plastic, a plastic tool of tweezers could have possibly fixed this very very easily.
The rest of the set is fine, though I would say this is on the younger age of key stage one and perhaps the beginning of key stage two.
Happy 2025 –
Good educational tool
The STEM Explorers Sun Catchers kit is a fun and educational gift. My child enjoys the creative challenges, and the pieces are reusable. However, some of the parts are a bit fragile, hence the four stars.

Fun and educational craft
Creating sun catchers with this set has been a hit. The challenges are engaging and help build coding and problem-solving skills. The frames and jewel cubes make colorful and beautiful displays when hung in windows. It’s a wonderful gift idea for kids who love arts and crafts.

…
This is cute in theory, but in reality it fails to hold our little one’s attention for more than 5 – 10 minutes per session.
Such a shame: it is well-made and has a solid idea. A sad miss for us.

This is a great accessory for a classroom light table!

Great ideas for play. There are cards with 3 different types of games. The size is good for little fingers as well.
The only thing is I wish that as it’s put on a window in the sun that we would see a colourful reflection on the floor, but you don’t see any colours just a shade…so really, it’s pretty when it’s in the sun because the colours of it are bright but there’s no reflection like in a true sun catcher.

I love this brand as their toys are generally very high quality. This is a fun set that provides educational fun. Only complaint is that some of the pegs seem to be a bit short to hold the beads and therefore they fall down when you pick up the closed frame

Loved this concept so we gave it a try. We tried the coordinates cards first and so far every design from 1-5 has an issue. The coordinates do not match the answer key. I’ve reached out to learning resources to see if they can provide the correct print of the coordinates, or another way to resolve the problem, but I may have to return this activity to Amazon because of it. Too bad, my kid loves this.
