Great device with multiple ways to use it
I took this item to Ireland for a work trip and love it! It is advertised as an Airplane holder, and it certainly can be used that way. However, it can also be used as a tripod stand (also useful on a plane, but additionally handy in a hotel room). I also find that folding in the legs and angling it up, it serves as a hand-held holder. Great for when you need a steadier hand for pictures or videos, but also for when there is nowhere to rest the tripod. I will be taking this along everywhere I go now!

Design-wise wasn’t expecting much in the flesh compared to the video advertising that uses computer animation rather than a real product in real use when actually manipulating the clamps, angle poise and rotation of mount with phone mounted but was pleasantly surprised that on unboxing it had metal parts where sensible.Sadly a number of disappointments emerged when manipulating it and trying to mount it various ways whilst angling the phone towards me at my desk:1) There are two ball/socket joints illustrated and I was expecting both to be free to move as such… turns out the one attached to the main body/clamp is actually a 1-axis hinge so it only bends “forwards” and “backwards” to the vertical axis of the main body that clamps to whatever you’re trying to fix the phone to.2) The Allen key tightening thus only really operates on how loose or tight the ball/socket nearest the phone is. This proved to be a bit of a fiddle to get the movement smooth yet tight enough to hold the phone in place (I used a Poco X3 @ c.230g incl rubber case and c.80mm (3.15 in) wide that the mount had to grip across) once oriented to face me. Lamicall appear to have used the same plastic for both ball and socket and this doesn’t help.3) Hanging from a shelf like in the advert video the spring on the main body is strong enough and felt secure provided it was clamping more than 1cm of ledge (mind this if your desk has a rolled, carved or bevelled edge). I didn’t have an airline seat to hand to test the “grip over the top edge” orientation so couldn’t vouch for this. I did try an “undergrip” on a cabinet, like a bit of drop fascia to hide recessed lighting in the underside, the clamp had a full grip but under the weight of the phone it started to pry open and if you reach to the phone to perhaps adjust it the added pressure could cause it to lose grip. I’d be wary of this if using in the overgrip mode, like on the upright airline tray, as it could also lead to a drop.Not as superficially handy as just a spring grip but what would’ve probably been better is to have a locking knob to fix the slide once opened and gripping.4) My phone isn’t the tallest or widest but once in the mount you can’t actually rotate it 360+ degree as the opened grip bumps into protruding anchor housing for the ball joint. So you may have a faff when you are positioning the phone for best viewing or having to flip from portrait to landscape mode if viewing different content and games. That bumping might also be enough to knock the mount free per 3) above.5) I do like the dinky feet folded out in desk sitting mode but when you’re trying to re-orient the phone the flex in them, that they are hard plastic not coated for non-slip, the above mentioned tentioning/movement issues of the ball/socket joints and the rotation of the phone grip all conspire to make it more awkward than it need be.Prior to reviewing I was thinking of keeping this item but after writing the above I think I’ll return it and look for something better. That extra attention to design and construction will no doubt cost more even if the solution doesn’t cost that much more in materials. Ho-hum.

Macht, was es soll, sehr schön verarbeitet, ganz besonders gefiel mir, dass ein kleiner imbus Schlüssel mit geliefert wird, so dass man es auch vernünftig fest ziehen kann. Empfehlenswert.

La verdad me gusta mucho este producto. Lo tengo suspendido de cabeza como spiderman ya que a veces me toca grabar o tomar fotos a mi área de trabajo y simplemente es poner el móvil y ponerse a trabajar.Esta hecho completamente de plástico, que no me termina de convencer porque espero que me dure mucho tiempo. Entiendo esta hecho así para poder subirlo a los aviones, cosa que también tengo pensado hacer a la mas mínima oportunidad. Me encanta como se cierra para reducir su tamaño y lo ligero que es.Al principio el peso del móvil no permitía que se quedara quieto, lo vencía y caía. Luego entendí que debía ajustar los tornillos allen que sujetan el cabezal que soporta al móvil. Con el juste ahora va perfecto. La llave esta incluida y se encuentra efectivamente camuflada en el cuerpo del soporte. Este producto cumple con creces su función, muy recomendado!
