This cat feeder was relatively easy to set up. There are bits you add to get this up and running. You have to insert the legs under the main feeder and the plastic area that is holding the bowls. It does come with two sets of legs, one short and one longer. I’m using the longer legs as they provide a good height without my cats needing to bend their neck all the way down. There are other parts to assemble but it’s fairly straightforward.You can use the Smart Life app to set up some features like manual feeding and scheduled feeding. I have mine set so it provides 2 portions of food every 4 hours. The portion size ranges from 1 – 20. I recommend trying it out to see how much comes out before you decide what is best for you. You can always put the food back into the tank for the testing phase. The has a feed record that just records when the automatic feeder has been used.You can set up a voice record, however, this is only available directly on the feeder using the microphone button. You can record up to 10 seconds of your voice by holding the button until you hear a beep. The audio activates whenever the feeder dispenses the food or when you press the microphone button once. There doesn’t seem to be an option to activate the audio from your app, except when you use the app to dispense the food manually.You can either operate this feeder using the plug and cable provided or purchase 3 of these large D batteries if you prefer.It doesn’t seem to dispense evenly. This could vary due to the flatness of your surface. I am using this on laminated wood flooring and it comes out around 45:55 between the two bowls. Not a major problem for me considering my cats eat from either bowl regardless.I feed them before and after work but now with this feeder, I can regulate their food intake when I’m not home. I am seeing small changes in their weight as they are not overeating anymore. For 75.99, I would recommend this for busy or lazy cat owners.
