This dashcam has far exceeded my expectations.
This is such an improvement on my original, now ten year old, dash cam it is difficult to know where to begin. The first thing that impressed me was ease of installation. Either scan the QR codes. or I preferred to just enter FOCUWAY in YouTube. I watched all the videos, and am delighted to have chosen this model!
Deciding where to mount the front camera is perhaps the hardest thing to do. Eventually I chose the passenger side of the rear view mirror as obstructing my forward view the least. Second hardest task was routing the cable to the rear view camera. A plastic tool is provided for levering up the roof trim so, although it may sound alarming, it turns out to be straightforward. I started tucking in the cable from both front and read and then made long loops of the excess to tuck in over the rear passenger door
In operation the system starts when the cigarette lighter plugs in. The imagery is fantastic quality, either on the dashcam screen, or via WiFi to the Focuway app on my phone, or by playing the SD card on my laptop. There is an element of Big Brother in the continuous recording of speed and position. No reason for the innocent to worry? The menus are self explanatory. I’ve not enabled either of the two parking modes yet. One of these provides continuous coverage when you leave your vehicle and the alternative responds to a bump or similar event. This is in case somebody runs into you parked car. Nor have I enabled the voice control mode. It doesn’t really seem necessary; perhaps integration with Alexa will be included in a future firmware update. Hint. You have to register to get the updates.
There is only one thing I am going to change, sometime, and that is to connect the power lead to the directly to the accessory circuit and have an on-off switch. Although the power lead from the unit can be tucked in behind a door pillar it still ends up dangling around the centre console where it needs to be plugged into a cigarette lighter socket. That area in my car is already a tangled mess. In summary, this is an outstanding dashcam which I must confess has far exceeded my expectations.

Great camera!
I recently tried out the 4K Dash Camera with Dual Lens, and itâs an impressive piece of technology, especially for drivers looking for enhanced security and recording quality. The 8MP sensor really delivers on its promise, providing crisp 4K footage that captures everything, from road signs to license plates. Itâs versatile too, allowing for dual recordings like 4K at 30fps in the front and 1080p at 30fps in the rear, ensuring clarity even at high speeds.
One of the standout features is the touchscreen interface, which is responsive and easy to use. Navigating through the settings or reviewing recorded footage directly on the camera is simple, though I appreciate that they kept physical buttons for those who prefer tactile controls.
The built-in WiFi and GPS tracking are incredibly handy for real-time logging of driving routes and speed. Plus, being able to download or share videos directly from the app makes it convenient to save or share important moments. The OTA firmware updates also ensure youâre always running the latest version, with potential improvements delivered automatically through the app.
When it comes to night driving, the super night vision feature with HDR and a large aperture truly makes a difference. Footage remains clear and sharp even in low light, which is often a weak point for many dash cams. The voice command functionality is another useful addition, allowing hands-free operation to lock videos or take snapshots just by speaking.
For parking, the dash cam offers two smart modes: collision detection and time-lapse recording, ensuring your car is monitored while you’re away. The collision detection mode automatically saves short clips if it senses an impact, while time-lapse keeps long-duration footage, ideal for extended parking.
Lastly, the dash cam uses a supercapacitor, which means it handles extreme temperatures well, both hot and cold, making it perfect for year-round use without the risk of battery damage.
Overall, this dash camera delivers excellent video quality, ease of use, and valuable features for safer and more secure driving. Itâs a robust tool for anyone looking to document their journeys or add an extra layer of protection while on the road.

Far better than my Nextbase
Itâs taken me a while to get around to reviewing this camera, as I wanted to get some extended testing in first. In short this dashcam has proven to be very reliable and easy to live with/operate since installation. The installation process was relatively straight-forward (and the majority of the cabling can be discretely hidden – a tool is provided to lever the trim away to hide behind NB this works well/no damage will be incurred). The hardwear has a quality feel and and the cams are evidently well-engineered. The video quality the cameras provide is outstanding: really clear both day and night. The software and video interface is clear and easy to navigate and it is easy to review and access the footage. There are all the options you could wish for including âalaways onâ to monitor recording when the vehicle is left unattended or when interfered with etc.
Some reviewers may question the higher price for this system compared to some. However, as an owner of a Nextbase system (a couple of years old now) which was way more expensive than this one (and far inferior in terms of image quality, usability and flexibility) my view is that it is very good value indeed. This system is now fitted to my sonâs car and he is xtremely pleased with it (and he is very particular).
Highly recommended.

I recently got this dashcam for my Camaro LT1, The video quality is excellent, both during the day and at night. It captures everything clearly, which gives me peace of mind while driving.
The installation was super easy. I was able to set it up myself in just a few minutes, and the instructions were clear and simple to follow. The dashcam also stays securely in place and doesnât get in the way while driving.
I also like the extra features, like loop recording, They work really well and make sure I never miss anything important.
Overall, this is a great dashcam for the price. Itâs reliable, easy to use, and has great video quality. I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a solid dashcam for their car!

This dash cam has exceeded my expectations in every way! Whether it’s day or night. The HDR night vision feature is particularly impressive in low-light conditions. The touch screen is very user-friendly, making it easy to navigate through all the functions.
The built-in GPS and WiFi add great value, allowing me to easily track my driving routes and quickly share videos. What I love most is the voice control feature, which lets me operate the device safely without any distractions while driving. The 160° wide-angle view ensures comprehensive coverage of the road ahead and behind, capturing every detail.
The 24-hour parking mode gives me peace of mind, continuously monitoring my car even when parked, ready to capture any unexpected events. The included 64GB memory card is a thoughtful addition, making it ready to use right out of the box.
Overall, this dash cam is a fantastic value with its excellent features, easy operation, and high-quality video output.

I picked up the FOCUWAY Dash Cam for extra peace of mind on the road, and itâs been a fantastic addition to my new truck. First off, with the hardwire kit, it’s SUPER discreet (see pics).
The 4K video quality is crystal clear, even at night, thanks to the “night vision” feature. It captures every detail, including license plates, which is exactly what I was looking for in a dash cam.
The touchscreen is pretty intuitive, and I love that it still has physical buttons for when I donât feel like messing around with the screen when it’s cold. The built-in GPS is a nice bonus â it records speed (accurate to a few MPH) and routes, which makes it useful for road trips or tracking incidents.
The parking mode has already proven handy, automatically recording when it detected movement while I was parked. Again, you need to have it hardwired for this, but the install was super easy. My only minor gripe is setting up the app took a bit of figuring out, but once itâs running, itâs easy to use.
Pros:
– Incredible 4K video quality, even at night
– Touchscreen and physical buttons for easy operation
– Built-in GPS and WiFi for extra functionality
– Reliable parking mode with motion detection
– Constant, looped recording with “lock” function
Cons:
– App setup could be more intuitive
– Need to buy separate kit to hardwire into car
– Recorded speed is off by 1-2 MPH
If youâre in the market for a reliable dash cam with top-notch features, this oneâs a winner, and half the cost of the big competing brand. Itâs been a great investment for peace of mind on the road!

Plus, the motion detection feature is a great bonus for parking. Highly recommend this product for anyone looking for a reliable dashcam!
