Excellent quality matcha powder, mixes well. Be aware that it’s only a small amount (30g = 1 oz)
This is some excellent quality, ceremonial grade matcha powder. It comes in a small metal container that’s about 2″ across and 2″ tall, and it doesn’t include any special accessories or tools or anything else you might need for mixing the matcha. It’s easy to mix up though as long as you have the whisk and bowl, and it makes excellent, high-quality matcha. You could also use it as an ingredient in cooking but at this price point it’s not meant for that at all, for this price you’re getting a very small amount but very high-grade matcha powder. As I said, it’s a very small container; you don’t get much. It’s only 30 g (1 oz) of matcha powder, and while it’s very high grade, it’s also very expensive for such a small amount. Whether this is a good deal to you or not, you’ll have to decide for yourself. It tastes great and it mixes very easily thanks to the high grade of matcha powder. If you’re looking for a little bit of it, then this is a good choice!* I only review things that I personally use myself on a regular and continued basis.* I always give my full, honest, unbiased and unfiltered opinion on everything I review.* I will not hold back or avoid describing any issues I have with a product.* I write exactly what I think about things – the good, the bad, the ugly, and the questionable.* If I get multiple of something it’s because I regularly use and need both of them.* And, I will update my review if something breaks, stops working as intended, or otherwise doesn’t hold up as expected.

Very light in flavor; probably a good introductory matcha
While this matcha is fresh by sight and smell, I found it to be very low in any flavor rather than my expectation of it being full of umami.I think it gets back to the terroir. I followed it with another one from Uji that I still had on hand and it was much the same, a little bitterness up front but not much umami to follow. Those are in contrast to another brand from Uji that was bursting with umami, which makes me think it’s just the terroir of the farm where this was grown. That said, on with the rest of my review…After preparing it as I always do (1 tsp matcha, 4 oz water, sifted and whisked), it had a light but good aroma. Other than a little upfront bitterness, though, I don’t get much depth or complexity. On the plus side, it doesn’t have the grassiness or other aspects I get from lower grade matcha. It tastes good, just light. It’s probably a good matcha to serve as an introduction, since it is so tame.In terms of pricing, this is on the lower end of ceremonial matchas, which is nice. I’ve had much less expensive “ceremonial” grade teas that were not graded correctly. This is light in flavor but it definitely has the right characteristics for the grade.Note when you open the tin that the matcha is loose. Most other tins I’ve seen have the matcha in second, sealed pouch inside.Overall, though this matcha didn’t overwhelm me, it’s fresh, is of high quality, and has a nice but light flavor.

    Mild and smooth
I’ve never made any kind of matcha drink at home before, and haven’t drank much of it at cafes, so I can be a relative novice when it comes to matcha. This powder comes in a high end looking, small metal container, which is sealed with a pull tab underneath the outside container top. To test this product, I made a cup of tea according to the directions on the can – whisk in 1/2 to 1 teaspoon of powder in 6 ounces of warm water until frothy. The matcha mixed easily into the water. It had a very smooth taste, with no bitterness detected. There was some unmixed powder at the bottom of my mug, but I chalk that up to my inexperience with preparing the drink. I am looking forward to mixing this powder into smoothies and trying other drinks.

Smooth, Vibrant, and Authentic – A True Ceremonial Matcha Experience

If you’ve ever had matcha that tasted like bitter, grassy mush, you’ve probably tried low-quality matcha or mislabelled green tea. Good matcha—especially ceremonial grade—should be smooth, vibrant, and rich in umami without overwhelming bitterness. DREAM MOOD’s ceremonial matcha lives up to that standard. The first thing I noticed was the color: a stunning, fresh green that reminds me of spring. That’s usually a great sign of quality, and considering this matcha is sourced and shipped directly from Japan, it’s no surprise it delivers on authenticity. The 30g (1 oz) tin may seem small, but for true ceremonial-grade matcha, that’s expected—it’s about quality, not bulk. For the best experience, I highly recommend using a matcha whisk. Whether you go for hot water or a milk-based latte, whisking for an extra 10–20 seconds beyond the suggested time creates an even frothier texture, enhancing the natural sweetness and depth of the matcha.Would I repurchase? Not as an everyday tea due to the price, but as an occasional treat—every couple of months or twice a year—it’s absolutely worth it. If you appreciate high-quality matcha, this one won’t disappoint.

    Beautiful aroma, but leans bitter
Really great aroma out of the tin and also when brewed. It’s a very aromatic and inviting matcha tea. The effect is also good, great smooth boost of energy as one would expect from matcha green tea.The taste is good, but it’s also a lot more bitter than I’m used to out of ceremonial grade matchas. It’s got a good complex flavor, great color, and is still much less bitter than any culinary grade matcha. But it’s relatively bitter by my standards. In some ways it’s good as it goes well in prepped drinks and accompanied with other ingredients like when had with a meal. Given it’s strong aroma this also is good as a confectionary ingredient, either as a topping or incorporated into a cream. If I was rating purely on taste, I would give this a four because it’s relatively more bitter than other ceremonial grade matchas. However, my wife loves the extra bitterness that I didn’t appreciate and it has a fantastic aroma which lends itself well to other applications so I’m going to give it a full rating.
