Great flavor easy whisking
Finely ground, beautiful green, amazing scent, the flavor isn’t harsh like a lot of matchas you usually get it has a smooth delicate flavor. It whisks up well and mixes with whatever milk you put it with and leaves a really pretty green flavor not a dull color. It doesn’t leave a film in your mouth like some do and as I said the flavor is a really delicate matcha tea flavor and doesn’t give you heartburn like some of the others that I’ve tried. It’s packed in a very thick nice bag with a really heavy ziplock so that it keeps the tea very nice and dry. Well worth the money and I would definitely buy again.

Well suited for my purposes
I have only used matcha in lattes, protein shakes and sometimes ice cream. I drink many different kinds of green, black and herbal teas, but I don’t drink matcha as a tea, mostly because of the usual expense and I have no experience with traditional Japanese tea ceremony. This matcha arrived quickly, the weight was beyond the 16oz advertised. Mine had no hint of the greenish olive color that others received, it has the same bright, vibrant green and fresh scent as other matchas that I pay 7-8 dollars per ounce for. Happy to know it is organically grown, I have been pleased with all of the Davidson’s teas I have tried. If it tastes terrible, I will update my review, but based on the look and scent alone, I am confident it will suit my needs perfectly. God bless!

Great Price, Taste is Good but not Great
This is currently the best deal you can find for organic matcha powder on Amazon.Compared to the more expensive Japanese matcha powders, this Chinese matcha has a slightly “grassy” flavor that is reminiscent of wheat grass. The top end Japanese matchas do not have any grassy flavor at all, they taste more ‘clean”. I prefer the Japanese matcha, but this matcha provides an affordable alternative. This 1-pound bag will last a long time. I make smoothies with it almost daily and after a month I’ve barely made a dent in the bag.Despite the slight grassy flavor, smoothies from this matcha are delicious.I started drinking these at a local coffee shop, but they charge $10+ for them. It’s easy enough to make at home. Here’s my Almond Milk / Coconut Milk Matcha Smoothie Recipe:————————–1 tablespoon matcha powder2 tablespoons sugar (or equivalent sweetener of your choice such as Stevia)Small Pinch Sea SaltAbout 1 Cup Coconut Milk* or Almond Milk Ice Cubes (freeze almond or coconut milk in ice tray)Almond or Coconut Milk* (any other milk or milk substitute should work fine also)*The coconut milk should be the ready-to-drink type usually sold in cartons, not the thick canned coconut milk used for cooking.Put everything in a blender and then pour in coconut milk to completely cover the ice, a little more depending on your blender. Blend until smooth. Serve immediately with a straw.

Yes, the color is off.
I cut down on coffee (makes me jittery) and have been having this instead. Its kind of easy to overdose with this because itâs powder. For the first week or two, I ODâed lol. I got very jittery. Finally got the perfect amount. Yes, the color is off. What do you expect for the great price?! I cant complain. Im not a matcha connoisseur, so I dont mind it.

This is not terrible matcha, but the reviewers who claim it is …
Sorry, people, you get what you pay for. This is not terrible matcha, but the reviewers who claim it is “good” either received a different product than what I got, or have not had premium matcha. The color is olive rather than emerald, the flavor is subdued and monotone rather than lively and complex. Suitable when you need large amounts of matcha for baking. For drinking, it does not make a bad cup, just a disappointing one.

PRETTY GOOD
Is it the best? Probably not. But it makes a good cup of matcha with soy milk every morning and you get a ton of this stuff. So, Iâm a fan.

Worth a try!
This will be my first time to write a review for this product although I’m on my 2nd bag now. We’ll it’s true that it has a grassy taste but it is acceptable and bearable since this is organically produced, perhaps no preservatives or some chemical were added to change it’s taste. Well I can say that I am used to it’s taste now. I believe on it’s health benefits and I will keep on taking this on future.

This Matcha is labeled simply “Matcha Green Powder”…yes the “tea” part is implied but I chuckled whenI realized that. It is more of just a green substance than what I would expect of a matcha tea. I have had better culinary grade than this for sure. The perks to this one are that its bitterness means I use less than I would a better flavor and this makes it last much much longer, and I think the price reflects the quality. When using is as a tea (which I do for my lattes) it is quite murky, very gritty, so I have found that using a coffee press for this stuff is absolutely necessary. For the price and the ammount I think I might purchase it again. It is better than not having matcha and the better quality stuff even culinary grade are far more expensive out there. Actually I am not sure this matcha is even graded, and I am pretty sure there is a reason for that. Its like getting that stale old coffee at a gas station. It’s not ideal but it is drinkable. It is probably just fine for baking and mixing into other things though. If you are really into a fine matcha I don’t recommend, but if you really want the benefits that matcha brings and don’t mind a compromise this stuff is worth its price. It has lasted me forever. I am not even halfway finished the bag and drink it frequently.

I dunno why everyone was complaining about quality. Itâs really really good. Yes Iâve had the high end stuff. Yes. This is not the âexpensiveâ stuff. But itâs actually really good. For the price. It is lower grade and less green. But. Definitely decent and perfect if you just want to sip on green tea all day long without breaking the bank ðIâve gotten food from amazon in the past and dateâs was always few months shelf life etc. Which did have me concerned. For this large 1lb bag of green tea. But…The expiry date is 2021 so as far as Iâm concerned that relieves me of my other concern.Definitely worth the price.

Best bang for buck. it smells like deep green tea. Really nice. Easily make the green tea latte from starbucks. Not sure what these other reviewers are talking about “bland” or “Colourless” . This is a really nice green, lovely smell. I have a big nose, and strong sense of smell, so i would know.I personally use it to make strawberry banana shake in the morning with collagen and scoop of Field of Greens (by brickhouse). Or manga pinapple shake.Taste amazing. this green tea gives huge boost in energy that feels clean. where coffee makes me jittery. I get a constant energy boost for a whole work day. Very good mental focus.I’ve also notice my apetite is reduced.

For the price point it meets my expectations of what a culinary grade Matcha should be. It has some grittiness that you will notice if you drink it prepared as a tea, or as a latte, but it is still enjoyable.I would recommend it for smoothies, cakes and cookies, but ice creams it may effect the texture — though I have yet to make a batch. The colour is also good. Not bright green but deep green like grass. To be expected.EDIT: The price of this product has gone up significantly since I bought it ($34.xx to $47.xx). I would not recommend it at its current price as it seems steep for the quality.

Reasonable quality for its price, but not the best quality that is available out there. You can tell because the colour isn’t great, the taste is more bitter, and it’s not as smoothHowever, I would get it again only because it is sufficient to provide me the health benefits at a reasonable price, unlike high quality ceremonial matcha that is out of my budget.
