Very good with the new updates
I have the very first Cubo and the 2nd release. Their support is very good, I requested to be able to see both cameras at the same time with sound from both and their support came back to me saying they have been working hard to release this feature which they now have released, very impressed they listen to their customers and this new feature is a game changer when you have 2 kids with 2 cameras. Highly recommend

    Very good but
It’s pretty good and we really rely on it. However, as much as we like our Cubo I must say that both my husband and I are rather disappointed at the fact there is no notification for connection lost. It’s absolutely bizarre that they’ve filled it with so many pointless features, but the one essential thing is missing.

    Good baby monitor
Very giddy monitor with loads of functions. App is slow to respond, maybe too slow.

AI unable to support the concept
I really wanted to love this product as the concept of an AI monitor is ideal for a nervous first time parent, but unfortunately the technology is not yet able to deliver.
    Feedback:
    1. My baby sucks her thumb and this sets off the covered face alert. This defeats the point of the AI as the app is essentially crying wolf.
    2. It is possible to select covered face alerts only, and not rollover, but not vice versa. I really need to be able to select rollover only due to the problem mentioned above.
    3. Sound from the camera plays automatically when the app is opened. Why is the default not mute/why is there not an option to make the default mute?
    4. It is possible to report that a rollover or covered face alert is inaccurate, but not a crying alert. The app confuses baby chatting to herself with crying.
    5. There is no option to have repeated alerts that are only dismissed when acknowledged by the user.
    6. It would be good to have an auto switch on/off mode for when baby is in the crib/out of the crib. I know this is less useful for a toddler but for a newborn, it would be helpful as they are always lifted out of the crib. I don’t like that the Cubo records all our movements and conversations at home unless we remember to switch it off.
    7. There is no option to turn off humidity alerts. The range can be changed but they can’t be switched off.
I am less fussed about points 3-7 but the inability of the app to identify that it is baby’s own hand covering her face (often, hardly covering it) because she’s sucking her thumb is a huge problem. I also really only want rollover alerts and the fact these can’t be identified separately from the covered face alerts is very disappointing.
We considered sending the monitor back but I’ve kept it in the hope that the AI keeps improving and because the camera quality is very good.

    Very good picture quality!!
UPDATE: Had this for 6 months, new review pic added to show how poor the video quality is now. It has all rods in the floor base & my little ones Cotbed is one notch from the bottom level. Struggle to see her face when zoomed in. Contacted customer service via the app chat who are friendly & helpful, but still waiting for engineers to look at it after a few weeks now. Picture quality’s been poor now for a couple of months. Would rate 2.5 stars but can’t do doing 2.
EDIT: Since I wrote this review around a week ago, almost instantly I started having more internet connection issues. It would freeze, I’d have to sometimes close & reopen the app several times. It is really frustrating & the app can be so slow & laggy too!! When you’re trying to quickly put a lullaby on to soothe your crying little one, it can be quite stressful. Also, the rewind feature has been lagging a lot. I rewind to a certain time & when I check the time in the corner it’s jumped back another few mins, & sometimes I try doing the quick 15secs fast forward / rewind & it doesn’t work as the time doesn’t change so I have to come out & go back in. For this, I need to knock it down to 3*. I still like the camera & the features & the quality of the picture, but these things do let it down. I’m so glad I got this during a discount.
Original Review: This is a genuine honest review & not part of any type of promotion. It is lengthy but very informative because I struggled to decide whether to get this or not.
This is 4 stars because of the price & the fact it’s subscription based, parenthood is expensive as it is!!! This monitor isn’t cheap, it offers a fair amount of features but come on?! I bought it when it was £50 off so still high at £169, but instead of the ridiculous £219. I’m also hoping I won’t need any subscription features when the 1 year free Premium subscription runs out as my little ones almost 7 months & due to go into her Nursery soon.
So, this was the 2nd Baby Monitor we tried. First we bought the “VTech RM7766 hd” monitor for approx £149 & the picture quality was AWFUL, among other things we didn’t like, so we returned it.
I did endless Googling of “the best Baby Monitor” for months. I weren’t sure if I was ever going to find one that was worth it. I struggled with the hefty prices or ones not having certain features etc.
I’ve had this for 2 weeks & I do like this camera. I would recommend it for the discounted price.
I’ve included lots of pictures of the app & features. Currently I’ve only got 2 of the extension rods in for the floor base, due to add the 3rd to make it higher for her Cotbed. I’ve included pictures of my little one asleep in her next to me crib, Ive left enough of the pic to see how clear the picture is at night.
My points below are based solely on my experience with the monitor & I’ve tried to cover all important information. Things I didn’t come across in the reviews myself.
    – You can’t pan or tilt the camera via the app. But it has a wide view & would have the entire cot / crib in view. I’d prefer if it could be moved via the app for when she’s older. Also, the camera can only manually slide up & down, not side to side.
    – The settings suggests you can have more than one camera added, but I don’t know so can’t comment.
    – I bought the camera with the 3 mountings & currently use the stand. You feed the wire through the stand pole so it’s hidden but doesn’t leave a lot of wire to reach a plug socket so it’s a little awkward & would need an extension if the cots not near a plug socket.
    – It comes with a little water bag to put in the bottom of the stand so it doesn’t tip over, but it can still be rocked.
    – We’ve not used the mobile or wall mounts so can’t comment on them.
    – It was fairly easy to put together myself, it was a little fiddly but overall fine.
    – The picture quality is VERY good with 2 rods in the pole & with the baby in the next to me crib.
    – It can zoom in so far where your little ones entire face takes up your phone / tablet screen & it goes a bit blurry / pixelated.
    – The App is fairly straight forward, bit slow at times. Especially when trying to get onto the lullabies / sounds, it can take a second to load. I’ve had to close the app & re-open it a few times because the pic was taking a little too long to load for my liking.
    – You can mute the feed, take your own pics & vids which you can save straight to your phone.
    – The talk back function is a little delayed, you have to hold the button for a second before & after talking or you’ll get cut off.
    – The feed itself is the tiniest bit delayed sometimes but it’s not major.
    – The temperature & humidity information is pretty handy. The temperature generally matches the GroEgg, heating thermostat & another cheap basic temperature thing we already had. It might be off by around a degree but not a large amount. I don’t know if the humidity is accurate or not.
    – You can rewind the video feed manually when in the big picture screen. You simply drag the bar at the bottom to the time you want, or when in that rewind section you can tap the arrows at the side which is in 15 second increments & goes up to 180 seconds if repeatedly tapped. This is handy.
    – The app can automatically take pics & vids throughout the night / day when baby is in their crib / cot.
    – It also gives a “Daily Highlight” which is a general sped up overlook.
    – I really like how you can put the view of the camera into a smaller window & still use your phone, that’s super handy!!
    – I wanted a monitor that had a handheld parent unit, as well as an App, so I was still able to use my phone. A friend suggested to put the app onto an iPad / tablet & use that as a parent unit which I thought was smart.
    – For some reason the iPad app cuts off the side of the big picture & you also can’t manually stop the lullabies the same way you can on the mobile app & the bottom features grey out every so often so you have to use your phone app.
    – Connectivity is generally okay. I’ve included a picture where it shows the connectivity issue message you get.
However, as mentioned in other reviews, it doesn’t give you a notification that there’s a connection issue. BUT I can understand if the connections dropped to the app then the app can’t give you a notification, but if it’s to the camera only then it would be handy if the app had that type of notification built in.
    – I’ve included pictures of what lullabies / sounds the app has. There’s a fair few you can’t access unless you upgrade the subscription, which I don’t like.
    – Some lullabies are loud, like the white noise sound is pretty loud so check the sound before whacking the volume to max. The sounds are not tinny, which is good.
    – Understandably, when playing a lullaby the cry detection won’t work. You can set the lullaby to play for 30mins, 1hr or continuous.
    – You can set a sleep schedule, so a lullaby / sound can be set to automatically come on at a certain time & for the set duration. It can also automatically start if you put them down within a certain window of the scheduled time.
    – Sleep analysis is okay, but not what I thought it’d be like. The information is available a few hours after your little one wakes up. But it will only work if the crib / cot is horizontal, nothings blocking the view & if it’s on the stand or wall mount. I had the issue of it not analysing her sleep because the camera was diagonal.
    – I wish the analysis would show how many hours my little one was asleep for, rather than how long they were in their crib for. Also, I don’t know why but it doesn’t give me accurate or even any information about the “Avg. Time to Fall Asleep” even though she falls asleep when in the crib.
    – Via the settings, there is a chat box in the top right corner that you can use to speak to Customer Service. I used this when the sleep analysis wasn’t working & the response times were pretty quick & they were helpful, polite & friendly, which is nice to know. Although they did refer me to the articles online which I said I had read, but they did leave the issue open for several days in case it hadn’t resolved itself.
    – I’ve only added my Partner as an Admin so he can access it. We’ve not given permission to anyone else so can’t comment on that.
    – There is a nightlight on the camera. It’s just a white light at the back / top of the camera. We already had the Tommee Tippee Heartbeat Nightlight thing & a starry ceiling projector thing, so I don’t plan to use this. But I just quickly checked it in our semi dark room & it seems pretty bright, not enough to wake her up, but enough so you can see in the room. This could be handy for nighttime nappy changes.
    – You can flip the screen & also set it so you have the background noise on so it acts as a sound only baby monitor. I’ve not used these features so can’t comment.
    – You can set a danger zone. I can’t comment on it fully as I’ve only had it set up once or twice & it would go off if she lifted her legs up & the camera thought she went out the side of the crib. But as she’s not crawling etc & is still next to me I don’t need this feature on yet but it did seem to work.
    – There’s a few different notification settings you can set up. I decided to turn off “Roll Over / Face Covered” because I kept getting notifications for this when she either had her hands on her face or her head turned to the side, so I wish that feature was better.
    – You can set the sleep analytics bedtime so it knows when to start tracking from & to.
    – You can set the temperature & humidity comfort range, as well as the temperature unit i.e. Celsius or Fahrenheit, & the app notifies you if the rooms outside of the comfort range.
    – It has settings for a sleeping pad & smart temperature but I don’t have those additional items so can’t comment.
    – The quality of the camera seems okay.
    – Appearance of the camera is okay, it goes with most nurseries, it is as it shows in the pictures.

    Love it and hate it
Love the little bird looking and the features this product offers. The AI photo capture feature and lullabies playing are absolutely helpful. However, the mobile apps wifi connection is not very stable. Everything else at my home connects to wifi without problem, only the cuboai app always have connection unstable issue. Sometimes it could disconnect in the middle of the night which makes me worried as I couldn’t check on my baby and need to manually restart the camera to makes it reconnect again.

It’s not possible to use all mounts without converting your setup everytime. This limits the possibilities when changing the monitor’s location frequently. Other USB C cables are also not usable with this device. So i’ve returned my CuboAi and purchased an alternative
