Very effective piece of kit
I bought this in advance of a 6-week period during which I was unable to drive my car. Knowing that the car would actually benefit from a new battery, I also knew that its battery would be completely flat when I got back in it. Given the compact size of the CarHev 5000A jump starter, I was sceptical that it would turn over the 1.9 litre TDI engine of my car. (A different device purchased 2 years ago was not up to the task, despite the other manufacturerâs claims.) However, I clipped this one onto the very flat battery as instructed this morning, waited for the green light and was delighted to find the car started up on the very first turn of the key. What an excellent device – compact, easy to use, effective and (in my opinion) very good value for money.

Nice well made product
Seems ok but not used it yet, Iâm a little disappointed with the instructions. There is no mention of how to charge the unit from the mains. Also there is no mains adapter included so I charged mine from a usb phone charger which took many hours.
I charged it into the usb c input/output, not sure if that was correct as there is no mention in the instruction booklet.

No more requirement for second vehicle for jump start
Small compact unit, easily stable in the car in its own handy storage pouch.
Easily connectable to the car battery.
Enough power to start a car with a dead battery on first turn of the key.
It took around 25% of the packs power to start the car, but as this pack is USB chargeable, itâs easy to recharge the pack, back up to full charge as and when required.
No more having to have a second vehicle to jump start the car, or manoeuvre said second vehicle close enough to connect jump leads

Does not have the cranking power to turn over a D5 Volvo engine.
Does not work on bigger engined cars. Product feels light compared to others that are half the capacity, almost like it âemptyâ inside the casing.
Tried starting a 2.5D engine from cold(0degree outside, glow plugs needed) and wouldnât crank it over.
Tried to jump a cold engine but on a 10 degrees outside temp and still wouldnât crank it.
Borrowed one that has Less CAH AND mAh and manage to get the car started.

Easy to use, and does exactly what it says it will. As someone who doesn’t drive very often anymore and occasionally finds I’ve a flat battery, this is a godsend.

Je ne met jamais de commentaires sur Amazon (pourtant je les regarde à chaque fois) mais là ce petit bijou m’a sauvé d’une situation compliquée dans laquelle ma voiture (pourtant très récente et hybride ) ne démarrait pas devant chez moi, avec la pédale de frein dur comme du béton et coincée, rien ne répondait pas même la clé ! Et pour tester avant d’appeler un dépanneur et de l’emmener au garage, pour voir si c’était la batterie. J’ai commandé ce booster. Et wouah!! Je ne suis pas du tout mécano etc.. et là magique, super simple d’utilisation, robuste, il me suit partout maintenant au cas où je rencontrerai ce genre de pb ou pour un proche qui aurait un soucis. Bref allez y !! Un indispensable à avoir dans sa voiture. Le rapport qualité prix est excellent !!
