Customers say

Customers find the protein powder to be a good source of protein for a reasonable price. It mixes well and dissolves completely without clumps or grit. The texture is smooth and not grainy. However, some customers found the savanna content bitter and hard to take through. There are mixed opinions on the taste overall.

Beginner to protein, glad this was my first
Saw an ad forever ago and finally decided to buy! I recently started strength training so I wanted that extra boost. I LOVE Boba tea protein because it is not grainy and very flavorful. The only thing I don’t like is the aftertaste. It is horrible, but it has incentivized me to use the protein powder in various recipes. I’ve used it to make yogurt bowls, pancakes, milkshakes, cookies, and they’ve all been so great!!!!!!! My husbands protein powder makes recipes chalky and dry but this boba tea protein mixes so well into everything. I’m so glad I bought it! Can’t wait for their other flavors to become accessible on Amazon!

    Pricey but Sooo good
My friend thought it was too sweet, and didn’t like how they couldn’t control the sweetness. This is something to consider. However, I enjoy sweet, and think the sweetness level is perfect. I mix this with lactose-free milk and a small amount of zero-sugar syrup. Never chalky, super smooth. This is genuinely something I can drink every day and not feel like it’s a chore, it’s genuinely a treat. It is not a ceremonial-grade matcha, if that’s what you’re expecting.

    Is it matcha?
I’m not a fan of this one. The matcha taste is a bit bitter. Tastes more like dark matcha. Doesn’t dissolve/blend very well. I liked the ube flavor better.

    Favorite Protein
This is the only protein powder I’ve found that I enjoy drinking. On its own it’s a little sweeter than I’d prefer but I add a shot of espresso and some fairlife and it’s great. The matcha flavor works really well for protein powder. My brain registers is as a normal matcha latte rather than as a gross melted milkshake like with the more common chocolate/vanilla flavors. It also blends well without clumps or grit. The only thing I’m not a fan of is the price. Wish there were a few more servings for this amount of money.

    Oversweet disappointment!
I bought the taro powder a while back, and it was amazing. It did have a bit of artificial aftertaste from the sweetener, but that was expected since I’m sensitive to that. But the matcha was terrible! It wasn’t just the aftertaste. It was so, so sweet I couldn’t get through 2 sips of it. I attempted to half the portion and add it to my regular matcha latte hoping to get at least SOME protein, but it was just as bad. Why is this made so sweet? And add to that that there are no refunds even with prime. It’s made it so that I have no desire to purchase anything further from this company. I found making my own protein matcha latte was far superior.I use unsweetened whey protein and mix that with ceremonial grade matcha into steamed (heated) milk after it has cooled. Then add a little creamer for more richness. For sweetener, I add half Lakanto monkfruit sweetener and half agave nectar to taste. It’s perfection! Boba Tea Protein Matcha Latte get 2 thumbs down and a no from me. If they would make this unsweetened so we could add our own preferred sweetener, then I think they’d have something.

    Unpleasant flavor
They must have changed the recipe – this has such an unpleasant flavor profile now. It used to taste exactly like Starbucks matcha, but now it is not even drinkable.

Even though there was a hole it still taste good
So the only thing I’m not happy with is that I got it with a hole and so I have to keep it in a giant zip lock bag now but other then that I personally like the taste oh another thing if you didn’t know it does not come with the perals so if you were wanted that it’s just the powder
