24-hour parking monitor is a great feature.
I ordered this dash cam for my friendâs Audi A4 because he wanted something that could record his drives and protect his car when parked. After testing it for a few weeks, I can say that it has some really good features, but also some frustrating issues that you should know about before buying.First, letâs talk about the good things. The WiFi and app control is a really nice feature. Once connected, you can easily view, edit, and download videos straight to your phone without needing to remove the memory card. Itâs also cool that you can share videos quickly, which is great for capturing fun road trips. The video quality is decent, especially during the day, with clear and detailed recordings. At night, itâs not perfect, but still good enough to see cars and license plates in well-lit areas.Another big plus is the 24-hour parking monitor. If someone bumps the car while parked, the camera will record for one minute and lock the video so it canât be deleted by accident. This is really helpful for security and insurance claims. The low battery protection is also a great featureâwhen the carâs battery gets too low, the camera shuts off automatically to avoid draining it completely. This means you donât have to worry about your car not starting the next morning.Now, letâs talk about the problems. The setup process is confusing. The instructions are not clear, and it took a lot of trial and error to connect the app to the dash cam. The WiFi connection isnât very stable, and sometimes the app disconnects for no reason, making it hard to download videos. A well-made dashcam for the handy motorist.
Fitting this Baiyueao 4K dashcam to an Audi should be straightforward but only if you feel competent to start pulling bits off without making a hash of it.I tried lashing it up in another vehicle with just the single power supply available when the ignition is on (like my current dashcam which is plugged into the cigar socket and powers up when the engine starts). It’s never going to be a neat installation but it would work with a bit of ingenuity and a 3D printer!The image quality is top notch, being a much higher resolution than my old 1080 model. However, on the odd occasion when I need to check the footage, I do prefer viewing it on the device’s screen rather than having to use the smartphone. That said, they have obviously saved a few pounds on components but I’m not sure this is reflected in the price.The other limitation is not being able to quickly detach the camera to use out of the vehicle to record witnesses etc.It’s a well-made bit of technology and easy to recommend for Audi users.

This product comes inside a cardboard box, once opened, youâll see the camera itself, a 64gb micro SD card, a prying tool, a connector and an instruction booklet. As of reviewing this product, it is priced at £139.99 – I think this is a little pricey.This dash cam records 4k video at 30 frames per second. The installation is relatively easy, and looks great installed in the car as it looks like it was an original part of the car, which means you do not need to put another camera in the car which may abstract your field of view.I like that even when the car is switched off it still detects collisions, and can take photos each second whilst parked, this will also not drain your car battery as it checks your car voltage and then will turn off before it falls too low. Itâs good that you can view and download the videos using your phone.I would recommend this product

Great Quality dash camera it comes with the fitting kit specifically for Audi models. It replaces the original trim which is behind the rear view mirror – in my case it was very tricky to take off. I would recommend using trim tools and taking your time as you can easily damage the plastic fixings. It may be worth getting a professional to fit it for you. It comes with the wiring harness which attaches to the wiring behind the rear view mirror. The positioning is such, that you get a very clear view of the road ahead.It comes with a 64GB memory card which is a bonus and you can also have Wifi connectivity to play back clips and save them to your mobile.Also comes with insulation guide with diagrams.

The car camera is a great addition to any vehicle, has good quality clear video even in low light, wifi allows easy access the recordings. I did not install it myself but my husband did and he said it was straight forward. When the vehicle is switched off it will still detect collisions. You can veiw and download the videos using your phone. Over all a good quality car camera.
