The reason we use natural ingredients
How to make natural hair care, body care, and skincare products
How to make natural nail care products
101 unique, homemade, self care recipes

Suppose you have a difficult-to-manage skin, nail, or hair condition, or you know a relative, best friend, or colleague who does. In that case, this book will be a lifesaver. It will also come in handy if you are a mom or dad struggling to find affordable, natural products for your children’s skin, hair, and nails. If you’ve been wanting to try making your own body or skincare recipes, this book is worth checking out. The author goes into detail about how to create different types of products for every part of the body, including hair, face, skin, body, nails, and even includes recipes for different make-up products. First, though, she provides information on your nails, hair and skin, and how they’re structured. She also provides general information on how to care for your nails, hair, and skin, depending on what kinds of problems you have.
After that, she provides details about the natural ingredients used in the different recipes provided in the book. These include the nutrients they contain and any contraindications people need to be aware of if they have certain conditions or skin problems. For example, some of the ingredients aren’t good for people who have epilepsy or certain skin conditions.
Next, she provides details about the different tools you may need for the recipes. These include an immersion blender, bowls (she recommends using glass bowls), cheesecloth, a coffee grinder, coffee filters, a cutting board, an eyedropper, and a funnel, among other things.
Finally, in the next chapter, she starts providing some different recipes. Some of the haircare recipes she provides include:
    Rosemary peppermint shampoo
    Foaming honey cleanser
    Baking soda shampoo
    Avocado conditioner
Mayonnaise conditioner (did you know you could use mayonnaise to condition your hair? I didn’t!)
    Witch hazel rinse
Some of the face care recipes she provides include:
    Honey, strawberry, and oat cleanser
    Honey and chia seed cleanser
    Multi-oil cleanser
Oil and tea makeup remover pads
    Mint toner
Apple juice, beer, and sparkling wine toner
Avocado, Yogurt, and Brewer’s yeast mask
    Simple sugar face scrub
    Sugar and coconut oil scrub
    Chocolate sugar scrub
Some of the body and skin care recipes she provides include:
    Basic body oil
    Vanilla-scented sugar or salt
    Detox bath salts
    Hemp moisturizer
Lavender, oat, and rosemary bath bombs
    Chocolate bath bombs
    Lavender body lotion
    Mood elevator massage oil
Some of the makeup recipes she provides include:
    Vanilla orange lip balm
    Burt’s Bees Lip Balm
    Rose Lip Balm
    Natural Mascara
    Beet blush
    Natural Lip Gloss
    DIY bronzer
Some of the nail care recipes she provides include:
    Butter and oil cuticle treatment
    Nail soak
    Cuticle cream
Finally, she ends the book with some important tips about how to store DIY personal care products, how to use essential oils, recommended dilutions, different colorants you can use for personal care products, and in the last chapter, she provides some additional healthcare tips, including protecting yourself from the sun, caring gently for your face, skin, and nails, and avoiding stress.
If you’re interested in making your own body and skincare products, I definitely recommend checking out this book.

There are so many synthetic products out there and many of which can be harmful to you and at the same time very pricey. In this book, Lynn Robinson gives some of her background information which is more than eight years in the cosmetics industry. With so many rich experiences under her belt, you know you are in the right hands as this guide gives you many insider DIY makeup, body care, haircare, and nail care recipes to get you started on your road to a healthier and finer living.
Robinson says that every time she picks up a product, her mind is always blown by the number of chemicals that are used to make the product. Unfortunately, not many people are aware of the disadvantages. She goes on to tell us that often these products add to the problem rather than solving it.
The only solution to this problem is by making pure and natural homemade personal care products and this book supplies many recipes to do so.
All the ingredients used in this book are 100% natural and provides many recipes to make natural body care, skincare, and nail care products.
The book also comes in handy for those looking for an affordable way to obtain, skin, nail, and hair products. This book is a great way to save big!
On top of it all, the recipes here are easy to prepare and apply. To add to that, they are also reliable – more reliable than store-brought products which is why our author recommends them to us.
As a part of her explanation, Robinson walks us through how hair, nail, and skin works. Which proved to be very informative!
There are tons of homemade recipes I want to try. Among them is the almond cleanser on Ch. 4. I have oily skin and I hear this is great for buildups. I also like to keep my lips moisturized so the Burt’s Bee lip balm on Ch. 6 would also be another great addition. Can’t wait to see how this turns out!

It’s a well thought out book. I only wish the ingredients came later, and I wish the recipes were in grams. However, I loved the book…

I stumbled upon this book while looking for tips for taking care of my damaged hair. I must say, I’m a happy customer. The book outlines simple recipes with easily available ingredients that anyone can follow. I also love that it not only focuses on recipes but also points out things that people can do to improve the health of their hair, nails, and skin and so much more. I particularly loved that the author advocates the use of natural ingredients such as essential oils, herbs, and fruits.
Page after page, you can tell that the author knows what they are talking about. This is more than a recipe book as Lynn Robinson goes on to highlight habits that are potentially damaging to our hair, nails, skin and body as a whole. For instance, I didn’t know I was damaging my hair by washing it frequently and with hot water, no less. I have already tried out a couple of recipes for my hair and was pleasantly surprised by how fast my hair felt healthier. I recommend this book to anyone wanting healthier skin, hair, and nails using natural ingredients.

Simple DIY Makeup, Body Care, Lip Balm, Facial Products, Hair Treatments, Nail Care & More
I have dry unmanageable hair. None of the products I have been using, some costing big $, have made much of a difference.
After looking for some more natural solutions, I can across this guide Gem.
Not only does it contain natural remedies for my hair care issues but also has info on skin and nail care.
So many of the recipes are using products I found I already have in my pantry.
In just a week I have already noticed improvement in the condition of my hair using the Banana Yogurt conditioner treatment. Not only does it have a better texture, but it smells great!
I would definitely recommend this book not just for the recipes but the additional practical information included overall.
