Didn’t come with rear camera
Didn’t come with the rear facing camera which basically means you can’t use the device as it mounts over the rearward center mirror.

Easy set up and good quality
Good value for money and the screen resolution is better than former models. Really easy to install and set up. Make sure you format the sd card in the menu and it will record the dash cam footage.

Good, clear image. Simple operation. No WiFi.
This is, generally, a decent dash cam / rear view mirror. It sits nicely over your existing mirror and the camera can be extended out a little, if your mirror is quite wide.
This connects up simply via the included power cable. Sadly, this is a very dated mini usb cable connected to a 12v plug. Most new devices use a usb-c cable as it’s far more reliable and future proof. If, for example, you’re already using a hard-wired kit and wanting to replace a standard dash cam, you’ll likely need to replace your kit to do so.
My demonstration video was done in the garden via a usb power bank, allowing you to see the wide field of view and accuracy of the image. It’s good; clear, 4k and perfect for recording footage.
In the box, you get a 64gb memory card, rear camera (on a lengthy cable) and a GPS module. Again, this seems to be a somewhat dated design as this style of dash cam normally have GPS built in these days.
Operation is simple. It starts recording when the ignition turns on. There’s a small battery built in for memory and the on screen functions are easy to understand and use. You can also change to the rear cam, when connected, or swipe with 2 fingers to change the vertical camera view. The camera itself also rotates in its base.
Overall, this is a good quality, well made rearview mirror dash cam.
Other than the power connector, which isn’t too big a problem in the grand scheme of things, the lack of WiFi is a big issue and my reason to drop 1 star. Although recording playback is fine on screen, the only way to transfer to your phone or computer is via a memory card reader, having to pop the card out (on the top, meaning you have to tilt the mirror to get to it, if your mirror is close to the car roof). Without WiFi, you can’t conveniently connect to your home wirelessly. For a device costing short of £130 at the time of review, I’d have expected WiFi as standard.

Easy to install, easy to use, excellent picture
I was a little apprehensive about receiving this, because I had no idea how it would be installed. I was under the impression you had to somehow remove your existing rear view mirror and then replace it will this. Thankfully, it’s far simpler than that. This one simply attaches to the front of your existing mirror, using the rubber straps provided. And it does so neatly.
I was a bit frustrated when I first set this up and the image from the camera appeared on screen. Even after moving the lens as far as I possibly could, the picture still wasn’t showing the road, as it was looking too high. However, I eventually realised that you only see a segment of the total picture the camera is showing. You can manually drag this up and down using your finger, but be assured that it does have a much larger field of view than the live view is able to show (you will realise this anyway once you play any recorded footage back for the first time).
I’m impressed at how good quality the camera footage is. You can see everything very crisply, which is reassuring in case you’ll ever want to pick out number plates from the footage. Once it’s set to record, the dash cam will automatically start and stop every time you begin and end your journey.
The screen is very good, and the touch sensitivity is nice and responsive. At any point, you can play back previous footage in two clicks. It separates footage into small chunks (you can set these to be 1, 2 or 3 minutes each), so you can quickly find whatever section you’re looking for.
Obviously the micro SD card is removable, so you can transfer footage to your PC when required. However, I did find that this was a bit fiddly to remove, and was unable to do so without first detaching the device from my mirror, which is a bit annoying.
The mirror is easy to switch to at any point using the button on the bottom. This mirror is well tinted, which is great for night driving, although does take a little getting used to during the day.
