    Perfect Gift
My seven year old grandson loved this gift, especially because I also included two potatoes so he could get started on it right away.

    Okay
The clock would reset any time it was bumped. Did it’s purpose for the science fair if left still.

Well worth the price we paid.
My 9-year-old and I built this together this morning. She did most of the work, while I did most of the reading and showed her how to identify parts using the diagram. Frankly, I felt a tad overwhelmed when she first opened the instructions, so I said we might have to wait for Dad to come help. Then my younger son said “Yeah, you’re probably going to have to wait for dad to build something like that,” to which I replied “No, we can do it, we just need to take it step by step.” Truly, once we looked over the peices and diagram, the instructions were easier to follow than I thought. Neither my daughter or I had put something like this together before. Our robot (which she named “Scooter”) turned out great. My daughter was thrilled and very proud of herself. A priceless experience. I will say Scooter does a good job detecting the edge but does fall off the table. You have to follow the directions about placing it slightly diagonal to the edge from the center of the table. When it falls some peices fall off, but she just puts it back together again.

    Doesn’t work
Disappointed… it doesn’t work. Tried with potatoes and soda as suggested. Followed the instructions perfectly. I think the clock or wiring is defective. Unfortunately it for Christmas and was past the return window so it ended up being a complete waste of money.

    Nice experiment!
I don’t have time to shop for science fair stuff so this was a nice kit. It was a little challenging to create an appropriate Hypothesis and procedure to preform. Luckily my husband is handy and we used a volt meter to measure the electricity coming from the potatoes to complete a proper experiment comparing red and white potatoes.

The alarm clock does power on for all types of fruit… including plain water… wonder if it’s just completing the circuit that powers it
