Amazing taste…I love this matcha.
Bought this several months ago for a recipe and it sat unopened and unused in my refrigerator. Recently my doctor advised taking away the one cup of coffee I drank each morning as with medication my BP continued to climb. I’m not a “breakfast” person (yes I know it’s the most important meal of the day…) so I decided to break out the Matcha green tea powder and try it. Yes I know it also has a small amount of caffeine. I love food and drink “ceremony” but actually at the crack of dawn all I wanted was something quick and palatable.OMG this is wonderful! I have the bowl, whisk, etc. but really do I need all this when all I wanted was a warm drink to start my day?I took a glass measuring cup with 1/2 c water and 1/2 c organic light coconut milk heated it in the microwave to less than 175 degrees (I’d read that water heated to more than 175 kills the benefit of this delicate tea and gives it a bitter taste). The final step is adding 1 tsp of Matcha to the warm coconut milk and water in the frother…giving it a couple of pumps to mix and froth it and presto a perfectly delicious Matcha Tea Latte in less than 1 minute 30 seconds. If I was trying to enjoy the meditative elements and drank it in the evening…I’d get out the bamboo whisk, bowl, etc. but this works for me…love the fresh sort of spinach/grassy taste, smells lovely…I’d rather “meditate” while I drink it. Actually I’m more interested in drinking matcha for it’s purported benefits in terms of containing a high level of antioxidants,(5 times as many antioxidants as any other food â the highest rated by the ORAC (oxygen radical absorbance capacity) method, increasing metabolism, high level of L-Theanine which is beneficial in the production of dopamine and serotonin (credited with enhanced mood, improved memory, and promotion of better concentration, detoxification, boost to the immune system and finally lowering LDL (bad cholesterol) and increasing HDL (good cholesterol). Had I read any of that…not really as I said I bought this to make a green tea flavored cake! But whatever I love matcha!I lost 10 pounds of “water weight” in three days despite being on a diuretic along with 3 different BP medications taken twice daily and a statin for cholesterol the only thing I changed was I started drinking matcha and I feel about 100x better. If it’s a placebo effect…which I doubt I’m fine with whatever is giving me relief. I love the fresh taste of matcha doesn’t have that tannin taste or regular tea or cloying taste of most herbal teas so I wasn’t expecting to be a fan and unlike other teas it doesn’t need sugar, milk or lemon to make it palatable to me.And the color is gorgeous! I’ve noticed that in recent years that while many readers are appreciative of others reviews there are also a few haters out there who want to endless argue and write unbelievably rude comments to reviews…if you are one of those people please write your own review as I am merely sharing MY opinion, MY result and finally with a caveat what has been written on the purported benefits of matcha. All I am saying is I love the taste, the color and while something has improved something…if it’s not the addition of matcha…I don’t really care as long as I enjoy the matcha…I would definitely recommend Tealux Premium Organic Matcha Green Tea Powder based on the foil package I received as it’s delicious.

Addictive!
My wife and I are addcited to this Tealux matcha. We tried half a dozen of other brands and we find that this one is the best quality for its price. Just smelling its sweet scent when I open its tin container, before scooping out some for my morning mix, is a delicious preliminary pleasure.I have one large serving each morning, and my wife has three a day.Advise: Do not use boiling hot water, it’ll hurt the tea and scrap the flavor. Seriously. This is not some snobby display of knowledgibility. I found this on my own, by chance. The instructions which come with the tea mention a water temperature of 171 deg. I bring it up between 120 and 130. The water must be hot, but just enough so that you do not have to blow in your cup/bowl. So, when the tea is drinkable just as it is served, is when I find I get the most body of flavour.Don’t do the mix with hotter water and then wait for it to cool down, it is the boiling hot water that will harm the tea during the mixing. Also, I drink it over an extended period and it may cool down to room temperature, at which point, either I stir it a bit to bring the powder back up and drink it, or I add some more hot water to the desired dilution density, and get a second serving out of it.Explore, and find your ‘matcha-do’, your ‘way of the matcha’!We highly recommend it.

Almost as Good as Maeda-En
I’ll be the first to admit that maeda-en’s matcha is still slightly better, but you really can’t beat the price on Tealux. Their matcha is still very green and comes in a nice little pouch (although I poured this pouch into a jar to make it easier to scoop). It dissolves fairly well and like most good matcha teas, it has a sweet aroma with just a hint of bitterness. We use this both for drinking tea, but especially for green tea fraps. It mixes exceptionally well with a small bit of milk and honey, and also makes a fantastic icing.Overall, if you’re looking for a very acceptable matcha, this is probably the best for your money. If you’re looking to up the quality slightly, I would recommend Maeda-en, but you will definitely pay for the difference.Make sure you order from Tealux! Other sellers have had multiple reports of selling inferior quality matcha. We’ve ordered multiple times from Tealux and not once have we had a problem—they even include a coupon for future purchases.

Pretty good, almost great, will repeat
I started drinking Matcha for its antioxodant and health benefits a couple of months ago, mostly drinking ceremonial grade Matcha. But between wifey and myself i was spending $75 a month on ceremonial grade Matcha at $25 an ounce, so i decided to expand my horizons and try premium grade Matcha which is a grade lower than ceremonial grade Matcha but less than one third the price. In my limited experience, premium Matcha doesnt foam up the same way as the ceremonial grade Matcha and there is slightly more bitterness, but it does produce the alert tranquility that Matcha is known for. In fact, the Tealyra (this is my second batch) seems to have more of a theanine caffeine euphoria than any of the other Matchas I have imbibed. If you add extra water the bitterness is less pronounced. I heartily reccomend this Matcha. It also vomes with a 25% off coupon. Another premium Matcha I like is the Viva organic Matcha but it doesn’t pack as much of a calming effect as this one.Bottom line: I’m sold.
