Works as transmitter with Sony WH-CH520 headphones
I bought this device in order to be able to use Sony WH-CH520 headphones with a radio. The information on Amazon says it doesn’t work with Sony headphones, but a previous review said it does, so I thought it would be worth a try. I followed the instructions in the headphone manual for connecting to “Other Bluetooth devices”, and connection took place smoothly. Sound quality is very good, and it works between floors of a two-story house. It also works fine as a receiver. For use as a receiver, the output volume has to be set quite high, but again it works between floors. Another good thing is that it comes with printed instructions, which are brief but sufficient.

This item works well for the money. Some hiss in the sound but still ok. However. Will need to purchase an extra RCA to 2.5 if you want to use on a hifi system.It would have been nice if this was included and charged an extra couple of bucks.

Not very good.
Not sure what the problem is but the volume is so low this (in my experience) is pretty useless. Sound quality is terrible and the interference is louder than what you are trying to watch.

Good up to a point but latency makes it unworkable for monitoring musical instruments.
Very neat and effective EXCEPT latency makes it unworkable for monitoring musical instruments via headphones through it.If you are using it to listen to recorded music, radio, podcasts etc it’s very good through my Bluetooth headphones. But not when listening to an instrument I was playing and monitoring through the headphones. One whole beat of lag at a moderate tempo. Actually quite good fun to experiment with the effect but no use for playing properly!But otherwise very good value, nicely made and packaged.

Amazing sound quality
Absolutely class little device. Very cheap and discreet. Works perfectly in my 2008 BMW. Feels like a whole new life with real music coming from the sound systems. Well worth the price!!! Does NOT disappoint!!!!!

Works, but doesn’t work
It works well when it is connected, not sure if mine has a fault but when I start my vehicle I have to re-connect it to work, if I don’t long press (pairing mode) it will not connect, other than that it is a good product.

J40 Transmitter works perfectly with my home theater plugged into headphone output jack. Fast pairing with my bluetooth earphones. Good range over 30 ft. No voice-picture lag producing perfect lip syncing. Transmitted sound quality is good. The J40 battery lasts well over 5 hrs of transmitting. Have not tried J40 as receiver. This J40 Transmitter has eliminated the need for headphone cord while watching TV without disturbing others. Highly recommended.

No trouble pairing it with my phone; I can finally listen to the music on my phone in my car! Love it! Well, I could have just directly plugged in using a 3.5-to-3.5 mm cord, but all the cords & wires get old after awhile; also, I really bought this item with another use in mind, but wanted to give it a try to make sure it works. It does!Basically, it does just what it says. The volume on it isn’t insanely fabulous, but by turning the volume on the phone to nearly max, and of course, the volume on the car “radio”, too, there’s NO problem. Possibly would be a problem if you somehow had to rely ONLY on the volume on this bluetooth receiver (?) but I can’t immediately think of any circumstance of that type that might come up.Anyway, love it so far – small & light, easy to set up, and IT WORKS! Absolutely recommend it at this point.As always, will update if anything changes…
