Gives great piece of mind checking on your little one
Comes well packaged with the camera, monitor, 2 power plug cables, wall mount and simple quick start instructions. A good quality camera and a good size 4.3 inch lcd portable monitor. Easy to use and set up. Clear and precise picture in both day and night. In daylight it’s in full colour mode, night time viewing is greyscale infrared image to see all delicate movements of your little one clearly. The camera needs minimal set up, easy as plug in and paired almost instantly. You can also download the Motorola nursey app so it can be viewed on your mobile phone or device. It has a built in microphone and speaker to enable 2 way talk, pre recorded soothing sounds and lullabies to help aid your little one back to sleep without the need of going into the room and disturbing them. The monitor also shows the rooms temperature so you can ensure its not too hot or cold in there and has a clear battery indicator level. You can fix the cameras mount to the wall, but no screws or plugs are included for this, which is alittle unusual. The camera then sits in the mount magnetically, the connection is strong and doesnt move or fall out. Clear and a great picture quality. It specifies as digital pan, tilt and zoom, so you adjust this on the monitor. The camera itself doesn’t move, you would have expected this to have this feature with its price tag though. In 1x you see a large area of the room, you can move the picture, put it in 2x it zooms in and then you can move the arrow keys and move the screen in the close up view, but it’s not a different view or angle of your 1x image. One downside of the camera is does have a constant blue flashing light when it’s on, so could be a little distracting in the room. Strong and stable signal range, up to 300m, no worry of it dropping in and out anywhere. Battery life is okay, you can always use the monitor with the cable plugged in if needed, which we tend to do over night. You do get a low battery alert, so wont just automatically switch off. It also alarms you if the camera gets disconnected. The monitor screen is easy and simple to navigate. I always prefer a physical monitor rather than keep looking on an app on my phone. It is a good camera, and nice you get the option of using the monitor or your device. Gives you a great piece of mind.

Has a handy mobile app
My Daughter is 7 months old and has recently gone into her own room so this has been very handy to have. It was easy to connect the camera to the parent unit screen. The image is good quality and has full colour. There’s also night vision mode which turns to greyscale and is still very clear. I do find it 1 or 2 seconds delayed from when my child moves to when it shows on the screen. There’s a useful app to download which is free. You can also view everything from your phone too which can be handy for some. You can interact with your child via the 2 way speaker. This camera is classed as having a pan and tilt function but this is not fully true. I was expecting to be able to pan around the room if needed but you can only pan and tilt on the image that the camera is focusing on at the time. So this is very misleading. If you want a different angle you need to physically move the camera position. This lets it down massively. I do feel this is very expensive and a cheaper brand I’ve previously used is much better and has more functions.

Very good range
This is a very good baby monitor with an incredible range that is actually able to reach from one end of my long, old farmhouse to the other, down the stairs and through some incredibly thick walls; it is only finally defeated by my shutting a door. If I open the door again, the signal returns. Note that if the handset loses the camera that a warning alarm sounds, which is incredibly loud, so you won’t lose contact and not know about it.The camera is a neat unit and connects magnetically to the base, which you can mount on the wall or elsewhere to get the best viewing angle. No fixings are included, which makes environmental sense as most people will probably want to change the viewing angle from time to time, so why make a mess of your wall.The camera has a digital pan, tilt and zoom function, which means you manipulate the captured image rather than move the actual camera (which would be an optical pan, tilt and zoom), much the same way as happens with movie cameras. The initial, unaltered field of view is extensive, but you can vary that by using the zoom function from being able to view virtually a whole room to just a crib. Once at the required zoom, you can then manipulate the image by panning and tilting to get the exact frame you require. You therefore do not need to worry about getting the camera pointing in the perfect direction initially for viewing as there is a lot of available digital manipulation to frame things afterwards and then to move around if requirements change without needing to dash back to the actual camera.I found the facility to speak through the camera was a little bit of a problem with a long delay, particularly when I was at the extremes of connectivity in this house. Speed of voice delivery may be improved if you download and use the app, but that relies on a good WiFi signal, which is sadly lacking here and I therefore have to rely on the parental unit pairing alone, which is very good as I have already mentioned. Tunes are a useful feature, particularly the bird song if you are trying to create a calm environment.I found this a very good baby camera and monitor with a useful digital (not optical – it won’t move the camera) pan, tilt and zoom function as well as two-way talk facility and some lullabies and soothing sounds. The app no doubt provides extra functionality for those with good WiFi, but if the basic unit set up can connect along the length and through the thick walls in this old farmhouse, I doubt it will be a challenge to use in a modern house even if your WiFi is poor as it is here.
