Looking at hardwire options
I ordered the Iiwey front and rear dashcam as my current setup does not include a screen, GPS or WiFi connection to an app for instant viewing of footage. On opening the box, it was evident by the packaging that care had been taken to prevent any damage to the product.I had hoped that the power input would be the same as my existing hardwired dashcam enabling a simple swap over but sadly, this wasn’t the case. The device is powered from the cigarette lighter with unsightly cables which I would not be able to entertain long term.I decided to test this out via a temporary setup of trailing wires to ascertain whether this system performed any better than my current (still functioning) dashcam. The device adheres to the windscreen with a pre-applied 3M sticky pad (I have several spare from my original setup). I note that this is not recommended for use with a heated windscreen. The App was pretty straight forward giving access to the front and rear recordings which include GPS and speed data. The image quality of the front camera is marginally better than my current setup (mostly at nighttime and in the direct sun) and the lower resolution rear camera seems much the same as my current one.At the time of this review this Iiwey dashcam was £129.99 with an extra £35 off voucher, making it £94.99. That is very reasonable for a camera with this specification.I am now looking at hardwire options although this may not be immediate as I am potentially changing vehicle (at which point I’d get a professional install at the same time as security options).

Small and discrete
So far so good after one month of use. Front camera quite clear footage and rear view pretty good too. Instructions are clear to follow and installation is a breeze. Iâm all together pleased with this unit.

Easy to install. Highly recommend.
There are so many idiots on the road these days that a Dash Cam is fast becoming an essential purchase and overall I am very impressed with this one. Considering it is at the lower end of Dash Cams in terms of cost, its performance is great and should definitely be sufficient to be used as evidence in the case of an incident.Video quality is excellent during the day with the video recordings very clear and smooth. At night the quality suffers a little but I still think it is of good enough quality to sufficiently capture driving. The usability is also very good and it pretty much works straight out of the box with no setup required. If you want to change any of the settings the menu navigation is reasonably intuitive and straight forward (especially compared to some other tech products out there).Overall, highly recommend to get this dashcam. Reduce your already high insurance if you can and protect you in the event of an incident!

very average image poor dynamic range
Poor image quality, dark with poor white balance. Software app OK but nothing special. Regardless of adjustments the image remained pretty poor.

brilliant screen, great video
Installed this in an ID Buzz that oddly doesn’t record video despite having cameras all over the car.originally I had a small camera but found it fiddly to use as the screen was too small and couldn’t see anything. Also whilst driving the car and having to change something it’s a pain having to use an app on the phone. The 3″ screen makes this really easy to setup and use. I am lucky that on my car I have a usb C outlet that on the roof that powers this so no trailing wires. I would recommend if you can to buy an installation kit that hardwires it to the fusebox 0 they are only around £10 on amazon. The cameras can then record for example over night etc.Whilst this has an app andis easy to setup I only use it indoors for reviewing any video and reviewing the gps trip info. The voice control works well and mostly used to turn the screen on and off, normally to make sure it’s still working and recording!Night vision is really impressive as well as the daytime. Really good value for at the time of writing around £100
