Pros:
Cleans well
Simple to clean/replace parts
Good for single floor homes
Cons:
Loud/bumps into walls
App not fantastic but servicable
No grid cleaning
Floor needs to be clear (no items laying around)
After nearly two years my device finally stopped working. I absolutely loved this machine and was devastated when it stopped working.
I used this machine daily, often twice a day, for nearly two years. In that time, I used my standup vacuum maybe a handful of times for big messes that need to be cleaned up immediately. Other than that, I used the robot vacuum. I lived in single story 2 and 3 bedroom apartments with a mix of carpet/tile while the vacuum was in use. Mostly live alone with one cat.
I learned quickly that prior to having this robot vacuum, I was not cleaning my floor often enough. Every single time I would run the Shark it would pick up huge clumps of cat hair, dirt, and debris. I often received compliments on how clean my place was. For the first year or so, I had the Shark set to start cleaning while I was at work. After it got stuck a few times and ran out of battery I decided to just run it manually. Manual use is super simple – literally just press the button on the device and it takes off. It would run for about two hours or so and return to the charging base. It is not methodical in the way it cleans – it just bounces from wall to wall like that old screensaver (itâs kind of addictive to watch) – but it does the job.
You do need to make sure to pick up any big things on the floor before you run it. It will get caught in curtains, shoe strings, phone charging cables, dirty clothes, etc. and itâs kind of loud. Definitely not anywhere near a standup vacuum, but it does make a whirring noise and bumps a little too loudly against the walls. Living in an apartment, I didnât run it at night because the thumps mightâve bothered my downstairs neighbors. I didnât like to have it running while I had company over or when I was trying to nap, but other than that it was fine.
Cleaning (the vacuum) is self explanatory I think, comparable to other robot vacuums from what I can tell. I needed to open it up and clean the brush maybe quarterly if necessary. The brushes start to bend after getting used, but I just switched which side they were on to get them to bend the other way – not an issue at all. I actually replaced the brushes and filter only once after about a year. I accidentally threw away the filter and didnât even realize it was gone for months, the vacuum still worked great.
This was easily the cleaning device I used the most and I will be prioritizing getting a replacement asap.

The Shark AV753 ION Robot Vacuum is a game-changer in the battle against dust bunnies, and I couldnât be more excited about it. Hereâs why itâs now my new best friend (no, seriously, we hang out while it works):
Why Itâs AMAZING:
â Set It and Forget It â You basically hit âstart,â walk away, and the robot does all the work. It’s like having a cleaning assistant that doesnât ask for a raise.
â Suction Power Like a Pro â This little guy has some serious suction! It picks up crumbs, pet hair (if you have dogs like me, you know the struggle), and debris like itâs training for a marathon.
â Smart Navigation â The AV753 is like the GPS of vacuums. It maps out your space and gets into places you didnât even know needed cleaning. Watch it dodge furniture like a proâno more getting stuck under the couch!
â Quiet Operation â Itâs quiet enough to be an undercover cleaning agent. You wonât even know itâs workingâuntil you see all the dirt itâs sucked up.
â Self-Charging â When itâs done vacuuming, it heads back to its dock to charge itself. Itâs like having a robot that knows when to take a break (I could learn a thing or two).
â Pet Friendly â It actually gets the pet hair. Enough said.
Why Itâs Also HILARIOUS:
Youâll probably find yourself talking to it. Itâs like a little vacuum buddy that you never knew you needed.
Youâll feel oddly proud when it finishes its work. You didnât do anything, but youâre like, “Look at this little champ!”
In summary, the Shark AV753 ION Robot Vacuum is my new favorite household employee. It works hard, is low maintenance, and doesnât mind cleaning up after me (or my dogâs fur explosion). If you want a smarter, quieter, and more efficient cleaning experience, this is your robot. Get one, and prepare for your floors to never be the same again!

So I’ve only had it for a 2 days now and already see some problems. First it does work great. Picks up all dust and dirt really well. I do like the dust bin being bigger then my last one. And it’s also not as loud as my last one. Still pretty loud though.
Next is this thing is so dumb. Any time it goes to dock it runs into the same wall over and over again. If it’s in the kitchen it won’t go around the corner to find the dock, it’s just runs into the wall. Then when I move it closer to the dock, it keeps running into the door. Never tries to go around or anything. Literally have to put it RIGHT infront of it.
Also the app really sucks. Dosnt work at all. Try to get it to start cleaning and it dosnt do anything. Re started the app. Still dosnt work. I have to manually push the clean button. Also there is no way to direct the vacuum with the app like a little remote control. Only able to supposedly turn it on and the suction power. So honestly I don’t even think having the app at all is necessary.
All and all if it was able to actually fine the dock on its own, and the app worked properly and was able to remote move the vacuum around, this would have gotten a 5 star

Oh I love this little guy. Note: in the video he is making a louder noise than normal bcuz he vacuumed up a paper clip. I was needing a little extra vac for the upstairs and it was prime day and I saw this little guy and some others at a similar price point as a stick vacuum and thought, letâs try one of these instead, because itâs as cheap as a cheap regular vacuum! I read reviews and understood before I bought him what his capabilities and limitations are so I had fairly low expectations.
He arrived and husband read the book. Heâs really simple to use! We charged him overnight and when I woke up the next morning my husband had started him by pushing a button on him. Itâs that simple. When you want him to stop just press the dock button on his back and he goes to his dock station. We says heâs taking a nap. If his battery is going to die, supposedly he will go the dock station. So far weâve just hit his dock button and he stumbles around like a drunken sailer in the wrong directions for awhile but eventually makes it âhomeâ, and backs himself into his dock to recharge. We have major construction going on in the basement and we havenât vacuumed upstairs in a while. He picked up so much dust and clumps of dust bunnies that got tracked into living/ dining room! Heâs super random but somehow he gets the job done, just leave him alone. I can describe him like the old pong game. He hits an object or wall and kind of bounces off in a diagonal trajectory. Heâs low end so he doesnât map or learn the floor plan. When you watch him, you find yourself talking to him, like âgo left, no not straightâ, but he goes where he wants and picks up a lot of dirt on the way!! He navigated our shag rugs! I couldnât believe it! He went under the bed with suitcases and should have gotten stuck and didnât. We call him row-vee and heâs like our little toddler (our kids are grown). We put up a barricade by the stairs. When he looked like he was going to get stuck, I started to go to him and my husband said, âDonât pick him up. He has to learn how to get out jams by himselfâ. I laughed so hard. Heâs gotten stuck twice and he beeps for you, like a toddler calling for help. Keep in mind that there are some robot vacs that cost $1000. They are lot smarter and have more features and Iâm sure they clean better. But if you can get your own little Rover vac for under a hundred, go for it. I will update if he breaks too soon, but Iâm really in love. My best purchase in a looong time!
