All in one place
This is a very comprehensive science set. It covers six experiments, and although the experiments it offers are not unsual, it does provide a great chance to buy all six of the most eye-catching STEM toys together in one large kit; it offers a lot of bang for you buck, and gives kids plenty of immediate excitement ( the volcano, and digging kits) as well as slow-burn activities to keep pride of place on the mantle piece (the crystal growing kits and Christmas tree).
The baking soda volcano was the first one we did and preempted doing it by making the young ‘runs sit through a specific episode of Phones and Ferb all about baking soda volcanos haha – so they knew what was coming!
The dig kits offer plenty of payback for their digging efforts. The only thing I would say is that, well, we all know they’re not in there naturally, right? So I did get pulled up on its lack of authenticity by an eight year old, which was nice. They did see the activity through to the end though,.
The biggest hit in our household was definitely the crystal growing kits. And the Christmas tree is really special (we did in in September however, oops). These do look quite spectacular and are a fab teaching opportunity as to why the crystals are different colours etc.
The set comes with everything you need including safety kit such as glasses.
If I was to give you a bit of advice it would be to put down some old newspapers or an an old plastic sheet as the dig kits in particular can be messy.
The only negative wasn’t in the kit per se it was in the listing – although the crystals are very impressive they definitely don’t twinkle as though they are laced with fairy lights(like they do in the illustration)! It’s more of a subtle glimmer.
Other than that, five stars.

Great gift
I ordered this for my six-year-old nephew. He loves coming round and playing with toys or playing games, particularly hands on group activities.
Heâs very inquisitive so he enjoyed learning and trying all the different experiments. I think it was good value for money and I now know that a gift like that would be perfect for him.
Currently priced at £21.99 so itâs a reasonable price for a gift.

A good kit which will occupy a child for a good length of time
Our daughter (11 at time of review) generally enjoyed this kit, though did find some aspects did not work as expected. She was able to do all the activities herself, though this might have been the reason some did not work as expected!
She has had dig kits before and enjoys digging around to find the buried stones; the kit yielded a good selection of coloured stones and shells for her collection. Quite a messy activity as the final extraction is achieved with the help of some water!
She was really impressed with the crystal tree, it grew really well, though was very fragile once completed and really needed to stay in one place.
Her crystal growing experiment did not really work for her, this is the one should probably could have done with some help with as she said the instructions did not fully make sense to her.
She enjoys seeing the inside of the geodes when they are split apart, being natural you canât predict what you will find.
A good kit which will occupy a child for a good length of time.

Not worth the money
Got as a present and this morning when my son opened it there was a mess everywhere as the sand packaging was ripped and the sand was everywhere and the other items were all damaged. The box was also ripped on the side.

Wow, what a marvellous kit!
This is so good, full of interesting mind boggling things to do and make through the art of science.
This will make an excellent gift for a birthday or Christmas, I would say for 8 years plus as some of the things to do require assistance from an adult.
I am very happy to recommend this at the price it is now, itâs a good value item for a great quality kit.
