    Could not make it work
You need to have the antenna up first for the unit to work. But the problem is that they don’t tell you upfront before you buy the unit, if you are not a car mechanic or car geek, that you have to take your car apart to find a bit of metal to stick the black bit of the antenna to. I don’t know and would not dare to disassemble my car dash to get it working. It is supposed to be easy peasy lemon squeezy but it is not. Don’t buy it if you don’t know how to take your car apart.

Compact and neat receiver, works well where the DAB is strong
Small and neat unit I have mounted it using the vent bracket and it holds it pretty well. Key to the installation is mounting the antenna, I followed the instructions and removed the pillar cladding so that the black sticky part could be affixed to the door pillar metal and the aerial fixed to the glass. The antenna cable is quite long so you can look at different mounting positions. Setup is straight forward on first power up it automatically scans for stations and once found you can scroll through and select them using the up and down arrow and the volume knob pushes to act as the enter button. You can change the transmit frequency to find a quiet frequency on your radio, the default 87.5 worked fine for mine. I knocked a star off because although we are not in a great DAB reception area her car radio works really well picking up stations clearly, this unit does not do quite as well with some stations breaking up a little. I suppose for a retrofit it does OK and once I get to a strong signal area it is fine. My beater with a heater car has a really old style radio so this is a vast improvement.

    Basically didn’t work.
Bought this to receive DAB radio in my van. Firstly the power cable kept falling out of the bottom when I went over bumps. Secondly the windscreen antenna is basically useless (something most people already know, get an external antenna separately.)
After getting an external antenna the signal would drop constantly even in areas with excellent coverage.
The sticky pad to stick the unit to the dash unstuck in hot weather.
Basically don’t waste your money, I ended up getting a refund and buying a whole new head unit where the DAB signal, using the same external antenna, is almost perfect.

    Poor item
This isn’t worth the money. You don’t receive a good signal and when you do it’s distorted. Don’t waste your money on this item.

    Cool little upgrade
    Same navigator size.
    Easy plug and play.
Serves as a DAB and MP3 player, also your handsfree.
Rest nicely on dashboard, vent or windscreen.
Would be nice if touchscreen could be added, rather that the buttons and dial.
Lovely and clear sound, for both music and conversation.
This is all transmit via USB or AUX into your existing radio/speaker.
Reasonable at under £45 with voucher, for a portable DAB/Handsfree device.

Good to have DAB radio in a 24 year old car!
Decent little DAB kit for an older car, as it offers the FM transmission to the car radio, necessary for my car as it does not have an AUX port for the radio.
Supplied with all you need, I used the vent mount as it put the DAB panel in about the right place, within range of the power socket with the USB adapter. Mounts up fairly securely, the DAB panel attaches magnetically, so in theory easy to remove, but that would involve disconnecting the Ariel, probably not something you would want to do all the time. I ran the Ariel cable through the glove box, so if necessary could tuck the whole lot out of sight, with the cables attached.
Ariel was easy enough to fit, just removed the passenger side windscreen pillar cover and followed the fitting instructions, placing the lead with other cables that run up the pillar, then threaded it round the side so could get it into the glove box, where I tucked the excess cable, then out the other side to the unit. Quite a firm fit into the side of the unit, which is why would not want to remove the panel regularly.
First time I powered it up, it picked up 11 stations, then 21 which included the stations I wanted, so left it at that. I already had an FM channel allocated to a plug in car Bluetooth adapter, so tuned the DAB unit to the same channel. Comes through clear and loud enough.
I did connect my phone via Bluetooth, straight forward; found it was not very loud and not likely to want to use it in that way anyway. You do also have options for Micro SD card and AUX connections, which again, am unlikely to use.
Would have been good to have an on / off switch on the unit, as my power socket is permanently powered so will need to remember to disconnect so the DAB unit does not run the battery down!
The unit is easy enough to control via the buttons down the side of the unit, nice clear screen (not touch screen despite what one of the advert graphics implies), all fairly intuitive. Good to have DAB radio in a 24 year old car!
